As per Screaming Ass Smith....
anyway let me paint this picture:
Melo for Kyrie Irving on draft night.
Kevin Durant signs with the Knicks.
That's it....
let it marinate. It's pretty seemless. Cleveland has internal problems with the roster. They could revamp the team and go for it with Lebron and Melo. They can trade Love for a proper 3rd piece to go with Lebron and Melo.
ok bye
So Kyrie misses the good old days before Lebron showed up when he was the leader of a team winning 24 games a year? Seems like Love feels the same way.
I wouldn't touch either one of those guys.

irving is one of the worst backcourt defenders in the league. the knicks and their knowledgable fans deserve better.
No thanks. Highly overrated, doesn't produce wins.

You know what he is a terrible defender. That's not empathized enough when people are going crazy over him.
Still I think brining him in as a shooting guard with a point guard that can shoot or a shooting guard with great ball handling skills would work. Iman Shumpert need not apply

+1. Another highlight film hyped player. We need more if we are trading Melo. Which btw, isnt happening.

so melo misses a a handful of games, and he's breaking down and just has to go, and you will trade him for a dude who is the most injury prone player in the history of the NBA..
Dude do you want us to take you serious at any point?
knicks1248 you have a point.
I don't think the Cavs would trade Kyrie for Melo, and I don't think Melo wants to go Cleveland.
But if it were to be ok on Melo's part, then I think the deal Cleveland would be willing to do had to involve a Jerian Grant. They'd also need to give up more than Kyrie for salary matching purposes (but it's not much, a throw in would be easy to make happen).
The real problem would be balance for Cleveland. If they move Irving, can't see them want Melo, who is a front court player. Would leave them very very strong upfront but still who would play Center - with Love there as well.
I think the deal CLE wants to make is that 3-way deal with Boston. Melo ends up in CLE, Love in Boston and we get Boston's highest lottery pick along with some throw in contracts. However with Lee gone, that deal may be much much harder to make.
.
Nope stay away from Kyrie...., stay far away

kyrie has been breaking down since high school
I've always questioned how good Kyrie Irving actually is. He doesn't move the ball enough for a PG; he's a little like Marbury.
I think Irving would be a great fit here. At 23 he's still 3-4 years away from his physical prime and if the deal comes up to get him and you can move Melo, you do it. Irving isn't a franchise cornerstone, but you can win with him on a multiple-star roster.

You ever see me writing that Melo is broken down and has to go? Are you Illiterate?
I just threw an idea out there. Try it sometime.
Not looking for recognition in these forums. We're just talking basketball.
"Dude you want us to take you serious at any point?"
You gonna stop being corny at any point?

You do have a point, but make your point and keep the garbage to yourself.
Cleveland fans and probably every casual nba fan would laugh at the thought of Kyrie for Melo. I had a friend tell me the Knicks would have to give up 2-3 draft picks plus Melo to get Kyrie cuz of the age alone.
Kyrie has a low basketball IQ and just wants to dribble. He plays zero defense. Still his talent grouped with proper coaching and system ball could actually be a good thing for his young career. Something that should be fun to talk about without having to go back and forth on the tickle train up and down this thread
If I was Cleveland I would dump him off on Orlando so they can build around Irving. Oladipo, Watson, and some picks could work.
Milwaukee is a team that could use him too. If they give up Parker, Henson, and 1st it might be a good scenario. Of Mil can flip Monroe for something like a defensive center they could surround Irving with two way ballers.
The problem is he might start trouble in a small market, so why not trade him to the Lakers that will be looking for a "star". His dribbling skills would be perfect for that crowd.
Irving is a SG in a PG body.....need to see how Philly built a team around AI.....need a tall or defensive PG for it to work......Lebron is the point forward so it works. But if Lebron was Melo....it wouldnt work.
