They would reach a buy out (amnesty clause) with Jose; waive Sasha and Lou creating 4 open roster spots. Sign Wroten, resign Jimmer, sign McCallum and try to sign Ty Lawson for an audition. And guess what...play them! See if they are worthy of a contract next year and can be young, rotational players. And start Jerian. It's not rocket science here. The season is over; has been over. It's time to do the right thing. But will they? Of course not.
Somewhere I read a suggestion that Sasha be added to the coaching staff. Not sure about that but Sasha is the triangle guy/KP mentor/good team guy. Lou has a similar role. Both guys are limited but solid locker room and practice guys. Do you need both or should you open a spot for a young guy? As a fan I want an open spot. The organization may choose to wait. I think the Knicks should consider grabbing Christian Wood as well.
If they had any sense, they would just hire every member from this site. The best ideas are right HERE!! I can't believe some of you guys don't already hold some sort of player decision position with a sports team.

I was the one that mention Sasha should be on the staff, instead of being on the court.
My 12 year old brain made me chuckle on the name Christian Wood. 😈
Its the playoff push or we need to win as many games to fake out potential FA or the guys will come around once they get a hang of the triangle!

Good idea.

Throw the team into chaos is not common sense. Auditions for players not in anyone's rotation with 20 odd games left is not fair to the fans, nor do we have a pick to tank with. So there is no purpose.
Im ok working Jimmer here cuz he is in the knicks pipeline all season. Don't forget, Ty Lawson is a mess, Maybe Brian Shaw has not so good things to say to his old mentor? McCallum is a decent idea but he needs to consider his prospects beyond the season. If waived, can he resign with the Spurs next year?
For all Jose is not, what he is, is still the best pg on our team and a good locker room guy. This was the guy playing when we were .500. Grant and Galloway have not taken the job from him. If he is "So bad", then why have they not been promoted?
Signing guys is not like some "Linsanity" to happen, guys don't know each other and more likely they start doing things to "audition" and that is not the team element you want to see happen.

paying for the NBA ticket and watching them lose 15 of 17 or whatever it is ---- IS NOT FAIR TO THE FANS
Id be willing to sign Wood and a guard but not Lawson--why do we want more problems? This is a guy who was given a second chance by Houston and his othe problems have been bad enough to make his play go down hill--why do we want that in anyway? Why would we want problems? Thats stupid

The Problem is, none of those players, aside from Lawson, had any real success at pro level. And Lawson has a lot of baggage and payroll. But I guess at this point, I agree, can't be any worse. Worst case scenario, funny circus show to watch. Grant definately needs to have time to be fully evaluated. As he was a first round pick.
They're not even playing Jimmer until garbage time. I know he gets pushed around during practice, but that's probably because he's torching our guards off the dribble, making them look as bad as they are.
And perhaps we can shut Melo down - put him on the '5 game' injured reserve list or something?
