Knicks · Porzingis & Rolo for D. Cousins..would you? (page 1)

TLover @ 3/2/2016 10:28 PM
I'm all for watching Porzingis develop into what we think he can become but D.Cousins is an absolute beast and only 25. Would much rather root for Porzingis & Rolo but Cousins is the best center in basketball. Also think it would interest KD even more to sign with the Knicks.
Give me Thibs as coach and we're a top 4 team in the entire NBA..no matter who we have in our backcourt.
crzymdups @ 3/2/2016 10:34 PM
Dear god no. Cousins has never won 30 games in a season. Ever. He's in season 6.
nyk4ever @ 3/2/2016 10:35 PM
wow.
Knixkik @ 3/2/2016 11:00 PM
Absolutely not. During last summer, of course, but not anymore. KP will be as good as Cousins in a few years and obviously is much younger and carries less baggage.
mreinman @ 3/2/2016 11:05 PM
worst idea of the year
Paris907 @ 3/2/2016 11:09 PM
You could probably put Cousins on Bostom and with Brad Stevens they'd challenge Cleveland. But otherwise unless Cousins is in the right environs, he won't win. KP showed us a lot this year. Tenacity, Confidence, pedigree, superior skills and tenacity. He's a winner and will prove it. A keeper!

How about KP and RoLo for Towns?

Towns is on another level. Now, that he knows there are few bigs in this league that can hang with him I can't imagine what he'll be next year. I think I read before the draft that his growth plates were still open so he might come back taller(possibly). Regardless all he needs to do is continue to refine his game offensively and learn defensive concepts.

Anyway, I'm happy with KP and there are only a few players I'd trade him for.

lateral trades like that just dont happen. We need to get guards and our only trade bait right now is rolo.

I really should go back and bump the afflalo thread. Im kinda bored now.

I know that trade would never happen I'm just saying Cousins is not the type of player I'd want for KP and RoLo it would have to be Towns, Davis, and maybe curry. Is a few years of curry better than a decade of KP?

Anyway, I agree Lopez is the only trade piece the Knicks have.

Orlando, N.O., Sac, and Chi(pau leaves) are possible places.

If that Monroe Portland rumor was true maybe they would settle for Vucevic in a 3 team deal since Orl wants rim protector.y

Man. This is knee-jerk personified.
franco12 @ 3/3/2016 10:15 AM
My impression is Cousins is a bit of a cancer - and as such, I wouldn't take him for free. I know he is putting up monster numbers, but we need character and talent.

I logged in just to say WTF?

Absolutely not. D.Cousins is great but he's not the kind of player that will win you a championship.

Yes, Towns is on another level. I think Minn would reject that trade and anyone who isn't a Knicks fan would say it favors Minn.
I'd do the OP's trade if Sac threw in about 10 first round picks.

Towns is on another level offensively, but i think KP is ahead of him defensively. And based on their body-types i think KP has much more developing to do than Towns does. Towns is better and will likely remain a little better throughout his career, but i think their overall ceilings are pretty comparable. Both are studs, simple as that. Each should be an MVP in his career.

You can take the level Towns is at now and with an average rate of progress from a rookie season, reasonably project he'll be a superstar if not MVP.
With Porzingis, you have to make far more assumptions. He certainly can become a superstar but there's also a long list of players who put up his production in their rookie seasons and didn't have impressive careers. I agree that their ceilings are comparable but their floors certainly aren't.
