It's amazing to me how there isn't any sense of urgency from the front office to sign one of the mentioned names for the open roster spot they currently have. What is the hold up? Jimmer's contract expired on Wednesday. They've had talks with Wroten (who averaged 16ppg last year and is the tall guard that Phil covets and by the way is only 22) and nothing. There's been rumors about Frazier (who just had a triple double in the D league and was last year's MVP)and recently waived McCallum yet nothing. Ty Lawson, a former all-star level point guard who is still in his prime, was waived--and they don't even make a play for him? Not interested. We have the worst point guard tandem in the NBA--by far. We are not winning. We are not making the playoffs. No one wants to see Jose Calderon anymore. There are only 20 games left. This is what's frustrating to watch. Signing any of these guys and auditioning them for minutes would be way more entertaining for the fans, and beneficial for the franchise, than watching another minute of Jose walking the ball up the court or being beat off the dribble. Enough already. What a joke of a franchise we root for. Thomas is going to destroy us tonight like every other point guard in the league. It's maddening!

also, McCallum and Frazier came from solid organizations, why would they join our circus. The only guy who is interested in signing here (Wroten) came from a worse circus of an organization and couldn't even get any burn there.
I think the most likely signing at this point is a 10 day for one of the Westchester Knicks.

Good point. The playoffs are unreachable, Knicks need to see what they have in Grant. Help him develop or showcase Jerian as part of a possible blockbuster trade this summer. Playing Grant is a win/win.

If the team is bad, like us, the more likely they will play, which is all they care about at this point. All they want is an opportunity. And, let's face it, with Jose being the starting pg, if the Knicks had any common sense, there would be serious opportunity here to showcase their talents.

An article said we won't sign anyone until Saturday at the earliest. Not sure why, maybe players are waiting to see which playoff teams want them first.
And I don't want to hear the DUMBASS argument that we don't have a draft pick this year and we need to win as many games as possible.
It is flawed in two ways:
1) We are NOT winning with the current starting 5 and with playing the veterans. It's not working. We're not good enough. Our point guard stinks.
2) Who cares if we lose more games and give Toronto a better pick in the draft. We need to develop some young players since WE DO NOT HAVE a pick this year. Yeah...it's embarrassing, but Phil didn't make that atrocity of a trade for Bargs---Glundick did. Let's worry about us and player development rather than who Toronto may get if they get a better pick. Absurd logic.

I see the Nets called up Sean Kilpatrick from the DL. He's gotten time so far too--2 games, 20 mins. apiece. Played a little for the Nuggets his first callup as well. Nice player. He can score. I think he's an NBA 2G all the way..Anyone wanna tell me how Sasha Vujacic's worth keeping over this dude?
At the very least you can bring Trice up to see what he can do, because he knows the system- although perhaps they know his ability well enough to believe he isn't the answer.
Don't know what kind of penetrator he is though.
I'm leaning toward Frazier.

I don't think you can rule out the possibility that Frazier will sign with Portland and McCallum will sign with San Antonio in the off season. In the meantime, they have their NBA salaries and can play in the D league where they will get minutes.

Hopefully something happens today. At this point it would be fun to watch prospects get some playing time.
We can sign these guys to take a look, but none of them would get minutes with us, because Phil will remain loyal as far as Calderon starting/playing the whole season. Would it be exciting for the fans to see one of these guys get a chance? Yes.
I'm honestly more intrigued by whether or not LG reaches 2000 minutes this season (he's on pace to do it). His RFA Qualifying Offer more than doubles if he hits 2000 minutes. Signing/playing a 10 day guy could help limit Galloway's minutes.
Maine playing Westchester today at 5PM on MSG2 so we can watch Tim Frazier in person vs. Trice.
