Just heard on the radio that we officially signed Tony Wroten to a 3 year contract. Thank God. Finally! Will Rambis play him please? Please include all articles and links here. Great news.
Ummmmmm what?? Seriously?? Do you have a link??? I'm shocked.

Free agent Tony Wroten and the New York Knicks are finalizing a three-year contract, league sources tell The Vertical.
Have no idea who Shams Charania is but i hope this is true.
I am thrilled we signed Wroten. 3 years seems excessive, but I guess I'll wait to see the terms of the deal.

He works for Woj at the Vertical/yahoo. I updated the link
FINALLY! I think he's the kind of player this team needs. Not expecting miracles, but he's a Big combo guard with speed and handles. Get's up the floor fast and can get to the rim. He's in need of a lot of work on his game but he's only 22! Going with a young prospect like him makes sense to me. The chances of convincing a top vet to come are likely very slim after all this losing. I wish it had happened earlier so he could get acclimated but at least it looks like it's gonna happen.
I'm with Herring on this one:
Bruh!
Finally!
The 3 year deal is a must for a kid that's 22 years old and the market the way it is. If he ever duplicates the 16/5/5 season he had in Philly he would be a max player

Good point. If he shows any kind of improvement next year, at least we maintain cost control. It's a gamble, but I'm guessing not a huge one financially and it protects the cap and ability to keep Wroten if he does work out.
I'm super excited. This is a really good signing. He's only 22, is a big guard that Phil likes, uber athletic and can penetrate. He's also a proven scorer in the league. It's like getting a 1st round pick this year where we don't have one. Develop him with our young core. Just hope Kurt plays him. He can help us now.
not really excited about signing a guy who has been a free-agent since december 24th. that's almost 3 months and not one other team signed him.

how is it a "really good signing?" every other team in the league could have signed him for almost 3 months and no one did. the guy isn't very good.

IMO Wroten is like a guard version of DWill. He's not perfect but he's got the missing athletic talent we need. He will attack and draw fouls and if he's on the floor with a guy like DWill the team will have more speed and aggression in getting out on the break.
I was hoping this move would be made so i'm very happy to hear Phil sees it the same way. There will be mistakes made but I think the overall impact of adding an athletic and aggressive guard is very key to getting this team where it needs to be. It's been a huge missing element IMO.
some career numbers in regards to wroten...
fg%: 41%
3pt fg: 23%
a/to: 3/2.6
these are horrid numbers...

He may have been rehabbing - he's clearly wanted to sign with the Knicks since December.

Just saw that years 2 and 3 have very minimal guarantees which is great so very low risk signing.

People felt the same way about Shved but you have to look at a player's skills and talents and how they may not work for most systems but will work well in this system. I'm hoping Wroten adds the missing "attacking big guard" back into this offense. It's what Shved did best and also what Wroten does best.
also did anyone see the article saying that phil intends to keep rambo for next yr?
