I think that he is great and refreshing. He was under appreciated as a player and now as a commentator.

I disagree. I think Chauncey was really pissed that he got sent out of Denver because Melo wanted NY. He goes at him a lot in broadcasts and he also is the guy that is credited with 'getting Melo to function in a team concept'. Not a good look for Chauncey. He could get his message across in a manner that was less condemning of his old teammate if he feels the need to go there. I also think he is still angry at the Knick organization for amnestying him( see recent comments).
wow you seem to be able to be critical but can you use this in a fair and balanced way? Or, do you believe that a true fan can only criticize players on other teams? Or ex players that mentions current players?
Maybe I only see Chauncey when he is talking about the Knicks/Melo. However,whenever those are the topics he goes after Melo. Do other ex players that are broadcasters do that? I know many of their peers are no longer playing but Chauncey seems to be that guy. Coaches that broadcast also don't seem to go there like Billups does. Just my opinion. At least Billups has a basis for his criticism. I do think he was really pissed about the trade and later being amnestied.

sure... but do you think he's unbiased when discussing the Knicks, their system and anything about that team? He's a pro and doesnt strike me as having an ax to grind but he's also human. He's got nothing good to say about the Knicks.
As for the system and who wants to play in it we still have to wait two years to sort that.

Every single person who speaks technically has an agenda but as far as fair and true, I think that CB has been honest though respectful, and refreshing. In (modern :-) ) broadcasting, no more of the boring talking heads that say absolutely nothing and are completely PC.
As far as the system, of course time will tell but it sucks that we have to wait 2 more years for this.
Chauncey didn't want to leave Denver because he is Denver through and through. That's time for him in his family so of course he didn't want to live his childhood and college plus then professional home. Although, CB has been critical he also talks about his work ethic and how he is a good teammate but like I said before I he is also talking about a younger less mature Melo.

I guess it depends on how old you are.
Anyway, I just looked it up and Melo was 24-27 y/o and Billups was 32-34 y/o during their time together. Also, like another poster mentioned I think Billups would have been the perfect triangle pg because he never dominated the ball that much, his highest usg rate was 24.3%. Plus he liked to do a lot of his work from the post and was never really a great distribute. He was good but not great. He was a combo guard that settle down to really find his way.
I wish there was a pg floating around there this year like chauncey but he was truly a rare breed.
