Knicks · Where was our foreign scout or Gaines with Jokic? (page 1)

BRIGGS @ 3/9/2016 2:18 PM
Boy was that a miss.

Also he looks much more modern nBA than Willy G.

jullybully21 @ 3/9/2016 3:18 PM
He looks really good and is going to be a very good player for a long time, but I'm willing to give Willy G a chance seeing how much Euro prospects are doing and many wonder how Jokic would play and both Willy G and Jokic has similarities.

NYKBocker @ 3/9/2016 10:02 PM

Don't bring facts into rants and mass hysteria over anything Phil Jackson.

Yeah we drafted early at 34 7 spots earlier when we had no c

crzymdups @ 3/9/2016 11:31 PM
Cherry picking times when Knicks missed second rounders, man?

As I recall the Knicks got pick 34 from Dallas about two days before the draft in the Chandler trade, so they didn't have much time to scout.

Where were the spurs? No one foresees everything
yellowboy90 @ 3/10/2016 4:48 AM
When was Gaines hired? Also, who says he wasn't telling Phil to pick him.

So the Knicks have to catch every European player on the radar? What about the other 29 teams?

This is just another example of the problem in the "let's just get a whole bunch of picks and be like GS" attitude. Much tougher than most claim it to be. Picking in the Lotto system called the draft is tough, even for the pros. Can you list 10 out of the top 30 players in that years draft that are solid contributors with high impact roles on their current NBA teams. Last I checked most of the top 30 were nobody's.

mreinman @ 3/10/2016 10:32 AM
can't believe that yankees traded Jay Buhner
Nalod @ 3/10/2016 12:30 PM
Where was Gaines when the Mets traded Nolan Ryan for Jim Fregosi???
Where was Gaines when Franklin Roosevelt gave too many consessions to Stalin in the Malta Conference?
Where was Gaines when "New Coke" was introduced?
mreinman @ 3/10/2016 1:06 PM

I read the title of this thread as "Why does our foreign scout Gaines have jock itch"
Sambakick @ 3/13/2016 1:29 AM
KP and Willy played in the Spanish league. Presumably Gaines was scouting the ACB. Jokic played in the Adriatic League. The world is a big ass place.
