Worth watching.

Woj: "For Phil, there's only one untouchable in New York. The Triangle offense."

wow that was awesome!! And spot on.

for me that is fairly a weak quote, that is the standard for ALL GM's/Presidents.

Wojo kept repeating the trade clause as his reason for his statement. That's nice and obvious but doesn't really hold any weight.

I don't get the point of the video. Didn't tell us anything new, did it?

GustavBahler @ 3/10/2016 1:05 PM
I couldnt get the clip to work. Thought initially that Melo's open display of frustration was to get himself traded, but as some sportswriters pointed out earlier, might be a case of "Phil or me" . If Rambis shows little and comes back anyway, or Shaw is hired, and we have to go through this all over again, I hope its Phil that leaves. If Rambis can show something, still hasnt yet, it at least would be more palatable. Otherwise its just cronyism.

Well, it reiterated something people tend to forget - Melo's contract goes longer than Phil's, by Phil's choice, and Melo has a no trade, also by Phil's choice.

jrodmc @ 3/10/2016 1:13 PM
I thought the statement about Melo recruiting free agents as a signal to Phil and Dolan that they can forget any thoughts of him dumping his no trade clause was fairly insightful.

The rest was nothing new, just your standard Phil bashing.

So Wojo made a video to state 2 obvious and well known facts. This can be done by an iterated by lots of GM's and teams.

Pretty much every all-star that goes into the last year or opt out year of a contract is in the driver's seat - just like Howard in Houston. Which is obvious.

So what is new here that we are all missing and that would make it video worthy? I just don't get it.

Are you asking me why I posted the video here or why Adrian Wojnarowski made it?

I posted it here because I thought it was an accurate reading of the team and a lot of people here seem to think Phil is in charge and Melo will be traded. I do not think that is the case.

Barkley did not tell us anything new nor did reggie. They are just spelling out the obvious ugly.

Not a good look for Big Chief T.

I think he may have been responding to the idea that is also in the media that Phil is in charge and will trade Melo this summer. That idea is floating around. I think it is accurate for him to say "not so fast."

I think people who closely follow the team like us know this, but the casual NBA fan may not.

Just like the hardcore OKC fan probably has a much better read on the Durant situation than we do as mostly casual observers. But you will see plenty of articles written about Durant geared toward the casual observer.

I also think it is always interesting to see how the national columnists like Woj or Berger report on the Knicks - to me it gives a sense of how the rest of the league is reading us.

why does everyone love talking about trump? Because its hot/a hot topic. Wojo is selling Wojo and this all may be obvious to us but for joe shmo fan, when they here that, it will catch their attention and wojo wins.

Knick fans' clicks.

I didn't like the needless little dig of saying KP Dropped to Phil as if it was just pure luck and a no brainer. There was PLENTY of disagreement on who should be drafted at #4. Heck SAS made it into a Federal case that Phil would draft KP over a more well known and ready to contribute NCAA player!!! It was far from just an easy call. It also understates the work the Knicks did in vetting all the prospects in this draft. They made the right choice in KP.

Then he said Phil did nothing to clear out the Front Office, but really Phil kept important guys like Warkentien and added his main scout Gaines. They've been doing a good job. It's underappreciated how hard it is to convince FA's to come to a 17 win team. Phil had to make some kind of progress this year and they did even with the losing stretch. Who knows how things would've played out if Melo doesn't trip over that ref.

As for the Coach, I think it's also unfair. OK Fish didn't work out, but Phil actually tried to get Kerr 1st!!! Right now he's giving Rambis a shot but that doesn't guarantee he won't change his mind and go with a guy like Thibs. No one has said Rambis is LOCKED IN. There's only rumors so far.

Phil will have cap space this summer and all the future draft picks. He hasn't doomed the franchise. A lot of progress was made this summer in terms of the roster even if they still have holes to fill. Let's see if he can fill those holes this summer.

we should have paid Kerr 60 million not Phil. We low balled Kerr.

And yes. KP was no lower than 4 on most draft boards but thanks anyways. Now lets see if Rambis can finish turning him into a second rounder.

A better option came up so even if we did not lowball him, he may have passed.
