Why would we get nothing in return for a Melo trade? He's playing great with at least 2 years on his contract guaranteed. The issue is who he would waive the NTC to go and play for. As long as he gives list of a few teams the Knicks can get a bid war starting.

Also yeah Losing sucks but we've been losing anyway.

There is nothing for Melo to be said about

It's just the reality of having 1 star player doesn't win games like they used to.
Lebron's team is loaded with stars, and they will be watching the championship game just like us.

We are now in the Steph Curry era.....Similar to being in the Jordan era.
It only gets harder from this point forward, as long as GS and the Spurs are relevant.

That's another reason Why I feel the Knicks should go full rebuild mode. They already got a young stud, let these other teams age and start drafting guys to make a run in the future.

I don't understand why people are scared to go the rebuild route. "OH NOES! WE GONNNAZ ENZ UP LIKE DA SIXAZ!!!" That's the most stupid shyt I've ever heard. WE AIN'T WINNING SHYT EITHER WHILE MELO'S A KNICK. Wake up people. Forget about the next 2 or 3 seasons, we have to built something more substantial, and that requires stud talent through the draft. We seriously need to get lucky and tank the 2016-2017 season to get a top 5 lottery pick in the 2017 draft to pair with KP, so we have the framework for a truly competitive future. Then you can sprinkle in free agent acquisitions once you have your building blocks, not before!!!

Exactly, just build up slow and keep cap space available for a trade. We're too far behind teams in their prime to make a legit run at it. 2017 is suppose to be a beast draft. The Knicks should tank to get a young prospect from that draft even if Melo is here.

My best case scenario the Knicks trade Melo for mostly picks, use their cap space to overpay some RFA with high potential (Bazemore, H. Barnes), and still tank next year to get a high place pick. It would be similar to the Detroit rebuild but with the Knicks having more picks to show for their trouble.

At least Spree didn't choke Van Gundy while in a Knicks uni! Of course we all remember when he broke huddle yelling "LET'S PLAY THE FUCKING GAME" before Woodson was done calling the play.

No matter how much of a shythead the coach is, you don't disrespect him like that. First George Karl, then D'Antoni, then Woodson, then Fisher, now Rambis

Gots to give it to Melo, at least his disrespect is consistent through the years!

Don't forget, we have a young Scola Willy coming over next year.....So eventhough we don't have a draft pick.......Phil was able to obtain two young pieces in Scola Willy and Wroten. This gives us players who will fill up the roster, without breaking the bank. Gives us flexibility to add a FA that fits with KP, and then a draft pick the following year. Meanwhile, a Melo trade for picks sounds like a Boston move, which is why they are now a solid team and 1 superstar away from making real noise.
