Knicks · How come espn doesn't trash any other franchise? (page 1)

The Sacramento kings are a mess. Rondo, rudy Gay and Demarcus cousins are on the team. Rondo had been acting really weird on the court especially when he refused to take the ball to make an inbounds pass twice in a game. Demarcus gestured to punch a player in the back of the head, plus he just got suspended for conduct detrimental to the team. Rudy Gay is a good two way player that's paid like Carmelo but plays like a marshmallow. George Karl has been screwing up the situation since the day after he was signed. They barely cover them. Definately Not to the extent they slander the Knicks. Not by a long shot

But all the taking heads still want to have whole segments devoted to trashing the Knicks. Making up rumors and blatantly tampering with the Knicks ability to do business in free agency. Its disgusting.

I think the name on the front of the jersey that makes all the names on the back media targets, personally. "Friendly fire" from our hometown media corps because of backpage profit motive. National media in our backyard based in Bristol CT full of a bunch of hater ass Celtics fans. Plus, our lack of chips means our fanbase nationwide comes not from TBS-watching bandwagoners but from obnoxious passionate New York expats. If the rest of the country has to hear about NYC from Jay Z or Frank Sinatra every time they turn on the radio, why not needle us on our weak spot?

Another thing: I went to the Hall in Springfield and as a Knicks fan it felt like even the exhibits were hating on us. Fact is, we have played the Washington Generals role in NBA history too much for too long.

So add in us being a media capital: you expect a bunch of Red Sox fans in CT to give us a fair break?

He has to be the most overrated coach of all time. Feuds with every star player he has ever had, disappoints in playoffs.

Dolan owns the franchise.
Phil is famous and gets paid a boatload of money.
Ewings guarantee.

NY is the largest media market in the world. Trashing NYK generates conflict, which is what drives ratings. Plus other markets enjoy it, too.

Simple, win and people stop talking shyt about you. A lot of the trash talk is deserving though as long as Jimmy and the One shot runs things. All of the dysfunction, the scandal, incompetence, the brutal play....and that's just the Fisher, Woody, Melo and JR era Knicks! Don't need to recount the Isiah era Knicks, it speaks for itself.

Until we get some stability from upper management, some real franchise players to take us out of the dark times, some sustainable and actual winning, we'll be the model for ridicule not just from ESPN, but pretty much all media outlets.

Remember the 90s Riley Ewing Knicks were the darlings of the hand check era and were on the NBA on NBC seemingly every game. Winning eases all that negative bullshyt.

They were pretty good (60 win seasons) early in that decade and were solid through 2006. In the last 9 years, we've both been pretty bad. Sacramento in the last 9 is 200+ games below .500. Maybe the media should cut us some slack for only being 100+ games under .500 during that stretch (Sarcasm). Frankly, Dolan's franchise deserves every second of criticism it gets.
