For the record, I love Rondo's game, but unless the Knicks get a much better coach, I think this would be a disaster.
I think he really hated Fisher and wanted to keep the Knicks as bidders.

This team needs more than just good players. Wasn't this group supposed to be "good player"?
This roster was NEVER expected to be THE ANSWER. Better than last year, YES, but we always knew it would take more than one summer of 2nd n 3rd tier free agents to build this team. I expected more but not a contender from this group, so it was always expected that more would be done this summer. I mean just look at the contracts Phil handed out and you can tell he wasn't finished.
Plus this is not an instant title situation. Not when you have a kid like KP in development! It seems like you aren't really clued in on what's actually going on with this team. Building a team is a process most of the time unless you do a Superfriends like Miami or a KG n Allen.

If he adds another good player in addition to Rondo that could have a very good impact. I doubt the team would end up with a losing record with 2 NBA quality starters in the backcourt.

Yeah you don't overpay a 30+ year old pg who has lost a lot of games as part of the process. To me I'd see if we could get much younger than older. I want to trade melo he's devisive he's aging and we need to build with kp fir a decade not 1 year.

Whatever it is it will not be enough and then you are paying multiple 30 yo multi millions to lose. We need to see what a melo package would bring in.

I think Phil's calculation is to have quality vets in the mix as you continue to develop the kids behind them. It's not a bad idea. It could help to accelerate the growth process. Very few totally young teams are in contention. Having vets is a good thing for young players when it's done right.
I'm beginning to change my mind on Rondo. He's great. Flawed but great. If he actually wants to play here that's great. Probably just trying to jack his market price up though.
Money that's all. Rondo is talented but this guy gives half azzed effort to many times to even be considered. He is know to mail it in.

The team needs more that just good players? You would think this was the Scott Layden or Isiah years the way some of you talk.
I personally don't want Rondo because of his attitude. I feel If we did get Rondo, we'd need a strong shooting guard. Affalo is not good enough of a face up player to fit what we are trying to do.... triangle or not.
With KP, Melo, Rolo, Rondo and say maybe Eric Gordon.... that team like alot like a Melo playoff team from his Denver days.... it looks similar to that Boston team Rondo led with PP, KG and Jesus.... it could work but we would need Thibbs to have a clear connection with Rondo. I think that's key. You get Rondo then you have to bring in Thibbs

The team is overall garbage and it shows in the results. Similar to those regimes we're even rotation coaches yearly. We have draft picks, that's the only difference.

It's always gonna be more, that's not a question. No one is mentioned contender status...just merely good. The question which you didn't ask is "was this team comprised of "good players"? It's not hard to build a team with "good players". Most teams in the league have good players on them. If you thought this group would do more, that's your fault.
