Knicks · Part time Jeremy Lin, BETTER than any NY pg, past 2 yrs (page 1)
Part time pg better than
Any knick pg, past 36 months
He is better 7 days a week,,
Anytime, any day. Any way
Which sadly not saying a lot about
Guards history here in knick land
Past 5 years,
For Lin to be better is a strike
Against Phil Jackson whom will never
Recover from the fact that point guards
Are basketball.
You don't play this game with bunch of talk
Skilled hoop players.
Jackson is carving his stubborn niche here
As a man that is too high on his books and
Concepts .
Not good for a legend hall of fame coach
Whom was at most ordinary player role,.
Who fail to realize you need more talents
Than back in the day of his basketball games
Played.
Sad you can't get a guard better than
Jeremy Lin, in here the Mecca MSG,

Agree with you bro' 150% !
Is Dolan sore at the kid?
Would Lin even want to play under the spotlight of expectation and the media crush that comes with it?
Then you can "Blame" Phil.

Hi Nalod
I hear your point, I do not think Lin, wanted to come back
Or felt nyk management wanted Lin, even at some
Compromised rates.
My post objective here comes on Jackson, comments
To diminish need of respected starter point guard on
Our team and in his system built.
He is boss, yes it takes time but Phil can
Blah blah blah all he wants to, triangle crap
Or not Jackson needs a good point guard period
Is point Mr. Jackson wants Knicks fans to accept
Garbled nonsense he cites.
You still need some control in any pro hoop
Game by skilled players, to try plan to win
A game!
Point guard need not be best nor allstar.
Of course when you got a Kobe or Jordan, Pippen
LeBron, etc.. Need for value Point guard is
Lessen,
Not too many of those guys type on too many
Nba rosters .
So regarding Jeremy Lin,and your knick pres
Jackson for 2+ years has fed us garbage at a
Valued point guard job responsibility then
Yes Phil Jackson is fully and solely to Blame
And cannot be divorced from, this knick gap hole
At point guard. So you can't see nor get Pg
BETTER than Lin, is more testimony to Jackson's
Ignorance in How much his guards/point sucks.!!!!
If,anybody want to say now if Zen master,
Big chief Triangle Jackson had NOT opened his
Huge mouth to diminish point, guard play in,nba
Or knock knick fans "pipe down fans .." via
Twitter, I would have not began, this post.
Mr Jackson wants to escape criticism or any
Blame for anything, here in NewYork , cause of
His 9 nba coach ring championships titles.
This he takes to Twitter to deflect and defend
His decisions .
No, no, no no nope Phil
Could care less on,.. his prior reputation ..it don't work
This way in Newyork city. NEVER..
This ain't about decisions,
Its solely about team needs a legit stinking point guard which Jackson
Sees different. Grade F, Phil for his remarks or
Failure to work on that issue !

supposedly he was or at least said so, I recall reading.
We also passed on Shved.
I'm wondering if Phil & Co were thinking they were going to end up with a PG out of the draft and made their FA decisions based on that?

Thats exaggerated. Lin would still be a knick if he didn't flip his contract in the lady minute by signing in Houston with that poison pill contact.
Also you been a knick fan to long to say we deserve where we are because how we treated Lin. Sounds like you are still in high school with no other knick memory to draw from.

I still think Melo ran him out of town, dude became bigger than Melo and Melo don't like some one stepping on his brand.

We passed on Lin because of the drama that it would cause. The whole season would have been alot the return of Linsanity. When you ate trying to build who needs that distraction? Besides Lin signed with Charlotte fairly quick so I think his mind was made up.
As far as Shved... the Knicks wanted to sign him to that 2.5 mil exemption. Shved wanted 5 mil and no other team was paying that either. He chose to go back home to Europe for the 5 million he wanted.
The end

So we passed on the drama of having Lin return and help us win games and instead got just as much, if not more, drama with Fisher, Rambis and another lost season?

Even if that is true, you can't just pretend the poison pill situation didn't happen. If he didn't do that deal with Houston the Knicks would have resigned him. If you remember that deal was done and then Lin when and did that. I remember alot of us being upset over that poison pill thing

Anyway you look at it there will be something to bitch about the same way you had to throw Fisher, and Rambis in there..... Btw the only drama circulating is from the fans and media. At 22-22 we were all happy. Nobody expected the floor to fall out with FISHER.... And I don't see any drama with Rambis coaching. I'm sure you will elaborate in your response

Listen,up chap, no not still in high school,
Got 2,3 college degrees N/A..worked for dept. Of defense mil.
Govt., then commercial N/A..
So all this solely knick chat with good forumers got
0% to do with memory and High school,, and even
Jeremy Lin contract ..flipped cause he did not want to
Be here in 1st place, for $$$ objectives.
Deal not done then is not Knicks fault,
For young guy at height,of new success
In ny at a time Knicks was trying to build
A team with #7 star player.
So before anyone start shooting at the
Mouth on high schools or Jeremy still
Being here still in New york, it was
Not meant to be then, hence that was then and
This is now...
Guards such as Lin, and others with even
Lesser names are better even avg. Guards
Than Knicks point, guards period! Is point
In contention with Mr. Phil Jackson.
Thus simply, said read between the lines
Point,guard now hiring/ needed posted
And ongoing, for over 5 years now in Knick land .

Your entire post made no sense. Just shows that you are ignorant and illiterate.
I was talking to Guns about being a fan too long to use Lin as a reason why we are where we are. I used the high school reference as the only way sometime would say something like that cuz they gave nothing else to refer to.

A certain % of Knick Fans want to wallow in the past, negativity and exaggerate the current situation. While I know how disappointing it is for this team to once again not have a winning season, in the end this season doesn't guarantee failure for next year. There are points of light on this team that we'll be able to build on.
There is another Free Agent market coming and new talent is going to be added to what we already established this year. Phil actually did a good job with the bigs and now we have to continue to develop the guards n wings and make good FA signings. IMO it's sad to see many Knicks fans unable to keep a sense of perspective about the progress and possibilities for the future.

Nixluva I think me and you are the only ones. Feels like saving private ryan around here sometimes.

I think the problem we all have is this organization time and time again has made puzzling decisions. Each year we are promised a new future, rebuilding, etc. Then some how we get pushed off track, panic and decided to do things like trade first round picks for losers, hire incompetent coaches, pick up options then buy then out and make panic trades. Give a player insane contracts. These aren't just gaffs, they are moves that most people would never think to make in the first place.
Phil, plain and simple made a mistake not addressing the guard weakness he created with the Calderon trade. Lin isn't a distraction, he was the right move in the offseason. We needed a guard that could score and penetrate off the bench. Two things Lin actually does incredibly well and we could have had him for $2.5MM. Shved would have also been a nice addition. But, you can't go into a season with no guards at either position that can't get the line and make things easy.
That's a good point about the Knicks saying they would match any offer for the kid. He had the opportunity to get paid like everyone in this league and he took it.
The Knicks did what they always do took one contract and turn it into a shitty one down the road. Remember the Knicks used the excess money to lock in Camby and Novak that they could have just given Lin in year three and that turned into trading Novak away for a lottery pick.
It was never about talent. It was about consistency, and the willingness to put in the time to make that happen. Lin decided to put the time into his hair.
