It was never about talent. It was about consistency, and the willingness to put in the time to make that happen. Lin decided to put the time into his hair.

Also, it is always puzzling to me how Lin is judged when he went for the most money he could and signed the contract the Knicks couldn't match yet he is portrayed as a victim that was chased out of town. I have nothing against guys trying to get the most money they can in their careers and I am sure the nbapa wants them to do that but I don't understand how one player can cash in and be considered a heroic martyr that was forced to leave and other guys are considered greedy me before the team guys when they sign a contract. It is a business, and there have only been two poison pill contracts since their inception. By design signing a poison pill contract either forces your team to let you go or forces your team to put themselves in a very bad financial spot.

All bullshit aside, Lin would be a perfect fit for the Knicks now. He's a scoring point guard that can play on or off the ball. He's poised and experienced. The Knicks are under Phil's control. We're running system basketball. Lin would fit perfect with the current situation. I think Melo would have no problem bringing him in. The goal is to win a championship now.

Also, there was a rumor at the time that D'Antoni wanted to waive Lin and the big that got sent to the d league with Lin for that one game. I think, but I might be wrong, that it was reported that Grunwald sent Lin to Erie because he didn't want to waive him. Lin blew up in his only appearance there.

Also, this board was crazy for Lin prior to Linsanity. The Lin versus Wall summer league video had most here really excited about having a guy that appeared to be a much better point guard than Toney Douglas.

Really? Lin sucked sucked once he got that ridiculous overpaid contract. Held us hostage and then booked. Had 15 minutes of fame. Houston thought we would be stupid enough to pay that poison pill. Then they got caught with the bill, to their surprise, and had to take him. They were lucky to dump him off to the Lakers, where he sucked yet again, but only after having to pay for most of the contract. He is just another 2 million dollar average player. Don't make it sound like he would of made us so much better. His contract would of made things worse. And would be even worse in the Triangle, not exactly Dantoni system. Schved was a bigger loss.

He became bigger than Melo?? Hahahahaha....NO he did not become bigger than Melo, the Linsanity thing was going crazy and his name was definitely that talk of New York but not bigger than Melo then and never will be bigger than Melo.

Of course he isn't on Melo's level everyone knows this to be true. But Linsanity stole he headlines and the atmosphere surrounding the Knicks was Beatlesque. If you recall the headlines were all Lin related.

We passed on Lin because of the drama that it would cause. The whole season would have been alot the return of Linsanity. When you ate trying to build who needs that distraction? Besides Lin signed with Charlotte fairly quick so I think his mind was made up.

As far as Shved... the Knicks wanted to sign him to that 2.5 mil exemption. Shved wanted 5 mil and no other team was paying that either. He chose to go back home to Europe for the 5 million he wanted.

So we passed on the drama of having Lin return and help us win games and instead got just as much, if not more, drama with Fisher, Rambis and another lost season?

Anyway you look at it there will be something to bitch about the same way you had to throw Fisher, and Rambis in there..... Btw the only drama circulating is from the fans and media. At 22-22 we were all happy. Nobody expected the floor to fall out with FISHER.... And I don't see any drama with Rambis coaching. I'm sure you will elaborate in your response

Actually a lot of the advanced stats at that point indicated that the team had won too many close games and was overachieving.
