Agree with you bro' 150% !

Thats exaggerated. Lin would still be a knick if he didn't flip his contract in the lady minute by signing in Houston with that poison pill contact.

Also you been a knick fan to long to say we deserve where we are because how we treated Lin. Sounds like you are still in high school with no other knick memory to draw from.

Listen,up chap, no not still in high school,
Got 2,3 college degrees N/A..worked for dept. Of defense mil.
Govt., then commercial N/A..

So all this solely knick chat with good forumers got
0% to do with memory and High school,, and even
Jeremy Lin contract ..flipped cause he did not want to
Be here in 1st place, for $$$ objectives.

Deal not done then is not Knicks fault,
For young guy at height,of new success
In ny at a time Knicks was trying to build
A team with #7 star player.

So before anyone start shooting at the
Mouth on high schools or Jeremy still
Being here still in New york, it was
Not meant to be then, hence that was then and
This is now...

Guards such as Lin, and others with even
Lesser names are better even avg. Guards
Than Knicks point, guards period! Is point
In contention with Mr. Phil Jackson.
Thus simply, said read between the lines
Point,guard now hiring/ needed posted
And ongoing, for over 5 years now in Knick land .

Your entire post made no sense. Just shows that you are ignorant and illiterate.

I was talking to Guns about being a fan too long to use Lin as a reason why we are where we are. I used the high school reference as the only way sometime would say something like that cuz they gave nothing else to refer to.

Need a point guard period !

I wont insult here ain't my ammo,
there is never ever need to get personal or insults attacks

Country is in enough trouble and world problems without claiming who ignorant and can't read,
As a matter of fact world troubles and ISIS, makes Knicks seem like the perfect team.
Stuff we kindly chat on here is lessened when you look out the box of other people problems
Before our needs here as fans.

Point guard in need for knickerbockers
A sad state when Lin, isn't an answer but simply BETTER than what you got at a position which hasn't
Had a point in ages is intent of posts.

It is hard to say what he is worth. He was struggling a bit in Feb/March (Courtney Lee?) but recently put up 3 really good games. If he has found a place where he has a role that suits him he should stay there.

It was 25 mil but he was a really good mentor for Beverly and Clarkson.

This. Where were these guys when Lin came back with the "Poison Contract"? Probably suffering from the afterglow of "Linsanity".

Syniko @ 3/27/2016 2:26 AM
Lin would have stayed in New York if Dolan didn't send him off to shop around. Dolan could have skipped the charade and just say "Lin, here's a few more extra millions if you stick with us and you can steer the ship." Guess what? Carmelo steers the ship. If there were no Carmelo, Lin and Linsanity would still be New York City strong four years into it.

The point being, even after all the poison pill drama, Lin still wanted to come back to New York but he was denied by the Knicks Organization.

Lin is still the best New York PG of the past two/three years He's ALPHA but the league decides otherwise to keep a non black or white player down because it wouldn't bode well for the league if ONE and the only ONE Asian player makes a fool out of every white and black Players in the league. Lin is the Jackie Robinson of our era.

Byron Scott and all of his stupid bullshit last season proves it.

Put Lin on a team where he's the primary ball handler/shooter and you tell him that he could go off like Steph Curry without punishment and he will bring Linsanity every single game.

If you look at his shot selections, it's very conservative. He doesn't take many shots but when he's allowed to go off, he brings Linsanity.

Saying Lin is the best PG we've had in 2 to 3 years doesn't mean much- not exactly high praise.

Your racial conspiracy stuff is nonsense- Was Yao Ming held down? Has the nba been holding Lin back the past 3 years by making him play poor defense and be wildly inconsistent? Is Byron Scott holding Russell back now because he's also racist against black players? You do realise an asian player playing great in the nba would be a money spinner for the league don't you?

The reason you think Lin would bring Linsanity every single game if given the minutes is because you only acknowledge his good games and completely erase his poor games from your mind- he is what he is, capable of some good games but wildly inconsistent. He needs to be the focal point to play at his best but he's not good enough to be the focal point of a good team- thats why he's in the situation he's in.

I heard he had a great influence on Toney Douglas too. Probably why TonyD torched us. I wonder if Toney D is available...

Given the situation that the NYK has been in since Lin's departure, I don't see how you're still sniffing roses in Candyland.

Syniko the problem with J Lin is that hes an inconsistent player--I like him--I actually made a post about him a year before he made the NBA whne he was at Harvard that said he could be special. Hes a player that is close to being a guy who could be special but just cant do it every night--difference between a good player and a really good player. I mean its a NO brainer that hes better than ANYONE on the Knicks guards unit--that he wouldve made the team better--but hes a step below what I would call a legit every day high end caliber guy---Charlotte got a great deal on him. I dont think he has the same hops he had at Harvard but hes smarter and still has shake with size.

I would trade him straight up at the same money for Aaron Afflalo.

That said, I'd like to think we could get him on a nice multiyear deal at $5M+/- over the course of a 3/4 year deal - maybe $6M/$5M/$5M team/player option year 4@ $4M.

He'd immediately allow us to waive Calderon if we so chose - we'd have a back up/spot starter at PG that can run this triangle offense & make open jumpers and get into the lane.

He'd probably average 12/5 if we started him next year - those numbers are in line with recent production.

I'd take him over Bayless.

dacash @ 3/31/2016 10:35 AM
lin is a back up, as soon as ppl caught on to him he was shut down, I think it started with the Miami game or Brooklyn game , linsanity was only for a week, a week , and he has never done anything remotely as ok as it cause he really cant he is a back up a back up. yes the knicks have lousy guards but he would be a band aid. stop crying about what would have been, stop thinking if if if. hell if my dick was longer it would touch the floor but right now its by my knees and im happy

Just an aside but . . . I keep thinking how sweet it would be to see Jeremy Lin as Curry's back up at GS. That was basically the reason GS gave Lin (who was undrafted) a contract in the first place. He was a project at the time but I think they figured he would be a competent bench player after a few years. He would, at this point, fit right in and be a brilliant back up for Curry. One of the very few mistakes GS has made personnel-wise over the last couple of years was not hanging on to Lin and signing him on the cheap to back up Curry. IIRC, they dropped Lin mostly because they unexpectedly picked up Nate Robinson.
newyorknewyork @ 3/31/2016 5:28 PM
On a side note.

You know the Knicks have never drafted a Guard in the lottery since the lottery system was created. The last Guard we spent a top 5 pick on was Micheal Ray Richardson in 1978. If you go by top 10 then Trent Tucker #6 in 1982.

He has done things better than his Linsanity run. Linsanity was a string of good games but he has played better in the last two years than he has ever had during his Linsanity run.

He's more focused, makes less turnover. He was the 2nd player only after LeBron James to score/attack the paint in two years ago. How crazy is that?. Lin does things every now and then that makes you scratch your head.

Nobody has ever come off the bench and had himself a triple/double since the ABA/NBA merger but Lin did while in Houston. He broke Philadelphia's house records for more 3's in a game (9 3 pointers) He always gives Spurs the most trouble and also have big games against Toronto.

We're not just talking about some dude who just cannot flat out score when he's on the court. Lin does thing defensively/offensively.

Considering Lin and Curry are good friends and also how much Lin adores Golden State Warriors, he'd be right at home.
