The real offseason will be the summer of 2017. Melo's time as a Knick has been one of underachievement and chaos, with a few bright spots. This season was a bright spot until the ankle roll occurred. That may be some of melo's karma for all we know. As KP is the future and Melo is not getting any younger, trading Melo for Butler is a no-brainer. But Chicago would never do that because Jimmy Butler is THEIR future. He's one of my favorite three players in the league right now, along with Paul George and Kawhi Leonard. Moreover, melo would never accept a trade to a team that has a broken down rose and a creaky gasol, a brittle noah, and role players.
I am wondering what players were brought into appease Melo. I don't think Tyson was. I know Kidd wanted to play with Melo but I don't think he was brought into appease Melo.
Tyson said specifically he came here because of amare and melo. he felt they could contend together. he even recruited him in dallas, so he actually would be the prime example. the Knicks have had so many former Nuggets, it's hard to not see who were melo influenced.
JR, K-Mart, Afflalo, Camby.

appease melo = win now
not gonna happen so don't bother taking on a melo-centric time frame

Pretty sure Phil will go after Durant and Mike Conley. Neither would be anything but win now.

My question was about 'no longer' appeasing Melo. I was just wondering what players were brought into appease him prior to this offseason.

we shall see. conley would be a mistake but durant is an interesting idea. that would mean either melo or kp is brought off the bench.

Nothing to see, everyone knows those two if on the market will be pursued. Conley at max would be a mistake, good thing we don't have that. KP will be playing center anyway so adding Durant doesn't change that.
