The young Lakers presently on the team have not exactly shown an ability to play together.

Randle and Nance seem to cancel each other out-Can you have them playing together on a regular basis?...Russell's problems are now well documented, and Clarkson is a nice combo guard to does not seem to do one thing exceptionally...and how much will you have to pay him.

Lakers, for the most part, were a smaller team, yet you did not see the kind of passing or teamwork you might expect from a team starting 3 guards and featuring bench players like Williams and Young (each with 3 more years on their contracts, I think!). Might well be Scott's problem...but Russell and Clarkson did not exactly gel together, did they?

If you are a FA guard, why would you want to come to the Lakers with Russell and Clarkson as you two main guards?

Russell and Clarkson have not exactly burned it up as passers...do you think a good big man during these days...a pick & roll player- is going to want to go to LA?

Just seems to be a lot of stuff going on in Lakerland...and even with Kobe leaving, you have to wonder how some of the young players they have are going to work together.

kobe and scott

I read/heard something about Scott possibly being brought back for another season. There was a reason behind why but I don't remember. He should be gone but I think there is a possibility that he will be back.

No chance! Zero! If you can find the link I would love to see the reasoning.

It was in an espn article about Phil.
In Los Angeles, the Lakers haven't yet decided whether to bring Byron Scott back next season. Sources indicate they intend to meet with Scott once the season ends, before deciding whether to retain him. While general manager Mitch Kupchak may have been noticeably unenthusiastic when asked to assess Scott's performance last month, sources indicate that was simply Kupchak's way of avoiding the question and not adding fuel to the speculation about Scott's future. It was clumsy, but it wasn't intended to be the damning indictment some read it as.

They see the potential and along with MSG, which is always full, MELO and RoLo it's a pretty strong looking situation IMO. Phil MUST fix the coaching spot tho! If you put a solid coach in there I think that would seal the deal for a lot of FA's.

I thought you were pro-Rambis?

I don't think it's gonna be anyone else, honestly.

Pro Rambis? I was evaluating him like anyone else. When he did well I'd comment on that but Phil said he had to win in order to keep the job and Rambis didn't really move the needle enough to keep the job IMO. 1-8 in close games is what really did him in. He did some good things but overall it wasn't a very inspiring performance. IMO Rambis just isn't the difference maker that you want going into Free Agency. I think Phil is gonna want a name that helps him sell the team as a destination. I could be reading Phil wrong but it's only logical to get a bigger name to help sell FA's on coming here IMO.

Phil has KP, Melo and RoLo going for him and if you add a coach with a better reputation to the mix that would only help sweeten the offer. Maybe Phil sees it differently but that's my take.

Many may not like the true facts .. 7.3 foot Porzingis has been clueless on how to perform in the POST.
Boohoo KP could hit 3s in the first quarter, but never when we need it in the 4th quarter.

I am not happy with KP nor am i thrilled about any of KP highlights this season.
When the midseason arrive our weak water-down small-ball NBA teams got a little rough making the next team fight harder for the win, and we Knicks fans started talking about maybe KP hit the wall, KP didnt hit the wall the NBA got to rough for him. KP turned into the BUST pick i booed at on draft night! KP Stayed far from the paint going several games without a blockshot collecting 4 or 5 rebounds in 30 minute.
KP season performance showed he has nothing to offer as a POST big-man on offense or defense to be a 7 foot player.
KP showed sorry decision-making plus his b.ball IQ are low, showing us repeatedly that he dont have the talent to be a Starter on any NBA team. Plus KP 4th quarter performance has been the pits all season.

Do you think we might be able to get a late 1st for him?
