This kid is gonna be a huge help for us next year with his athleticism, getting to the basket, passing and defense and if he can find even somewhat of a shot he'll be an even bigger help. What's most concerning for me that i didn't know until i read this article is that he's has problems with his knees even before last seasons injury.

That would be great. Obviously his type of injury isnt easy to come back from but it would be great if he excels especially at his low cap hit
I love his attitude but I sure as shit hope he's wrong and the Knicks have bigger plans to upgrade the backcourt

Yeah i'm still hoping we go after a M.Conley but if we can't upgrade at PG then i'd be fine with upgrading at SG and going with Wroten/Grant at PG for next season to see what they can do and then the following off season which is rich with free agent PG's is when we can upgrade at PG if needed. Wroten can play both guards positions as well and it could be good for us to see him start at PG for a season to see what he can do.
Hope he goes to some kind of jump shooting academy... his long and midrange jump shooting has been more than suspect- its been criminal.
Also hope that athleticism is still there and he fully recovers.
Like the confidence, and I hope I'm wrong, but he really has show consistency with his shot, or guys around here are going to be screaming.
He's under a "prove yourself" type contract and we aren't paying him much, so I'm not that concerned.
Please prove me wrong, Mr. Wroten.
Haven't heard this much confidence and bluster from a Knicks nobody since Lavor Postal!

Yeah it's a bit over the top but in his defense he's the most talented guard on the roster and he's extremely flawed! So that tells you a lot about our guards. Wroten is gonna need to clean up a lot of things about his game. Obviously he must improve his shooting but it's more than just that.
He MUST become much more efficient overall. Learn how to run the team and use his physical talent the right way rather than be a human wrecking ball and playing wildly. This structure could be just the thing for him. Finding the proper balance between aggression and control will be key!

and that's on offense-- his defense has been well below the league average at the position as well. a knee injury sure doesn't help lateral movement.
I like that Melo is already pumping him up.
He can be a valuable piece if all goes well.
I do hope we get another upgrade to the backcourt... or two upgrades.
If Wroten is starting regularly at PG next season, I'd be surprised if we make the playoffs.
And this is coming from someone who likes Wroten.

I think you need to look deeper into the stats. Wroten was put on the best guard on the opposing team. That's gonna impact your numbers. Not to mention the Sixers as a whole weren't exactly a defensive juggernaut! He's a very quick and long defender. With our bigs behind him you will see much better defensive numbers. Plus imagine how much better he will be than Jose!

good point. plus he's a lefty. i'm not getting too invested in 2016-2017 anyway. the goal should be getting to .500.
As long as Carmelo is one of the PGs, we should be ok. It'll keep him from banging with people and hurting himself.

I expect Melo will continue to be more of a Point Forward. A Wroten/MELO 2 man could be pretty special. We really miss the constant penetration Shved gave us.
I want a guy that's confident. Wroten says it flat out because he believes in what he can do. I want that guy on my team. The dude put up 16pts a game, before he got hurt. The guy has proven that. You can't ignore it, yet people do. If he can get close to that and add the 5 rebounds and 5 assist plus clean up his turnovers? Then who needs to spend 20 million on Conley? Fans should be cheering for this kid to succeed.... yet I see guys hope he doesn't succeed. Like what's going on here?
Guys want Rondo....he can't shoot either but he can do everything else. Wroten is one of the best at attacking the paint. The numbers say he is the best.... if he plays his game that opens up for the shooters. The punt guards job is to do just that, not shoot every time down

Also, love this quote from the Berman article.
the Sixers like Wroten as an on-ball defender and character teammate but decided they needed a healthy body (they signed Ish Smith) when they waived Wroten. They also were uncertain with all their upcoming draft picks if they would have room to re-sign him.
And there is this:

The GM that did that is no longer their GM.
Philly is going to clean up under Colangelo and Son. If fans would chill out they will see Phil is doing the same for us

Wroten has the raw physical talent to be a good defender. He's got great recovery speed and fast twitch muscles. He needs to learn how to play team defense but if he can pick up the Knicks schemes he should be a major upgrade on the perimeter.
