no need for stupid numbers. Just watch him play for a few minutes and if you had my understanding of the game, it would be more than enough.

I once looked a 8 seconds of grainy footage of a player in 8th grade and I new he would be a top 5 NBA player. Its how I role

I hear what you're saying but what about the solid numbers in college, the good numbers in summer league, the excellent DL numbers, all culminating with the positive stint at the end of the NBA regular season? And maybe I'm nuts but if we secured Seth Curry could that increase our chances of landing brother Steph after next season? Probably not but maybe..

i don't disagree with a thing you're saying. seth was a good college player at duke, and he's definitely put in his time in the d-league, he's also got that shooting pedigree. i would of course be open to signing him, i'm just not sure i'd go crazy numbers like briggs is throwing out there. all i'm saying is, i do think the WHEN of seth's hot streak has occurred has to be met with some caution. that doesn't mean he hasn't turned a corner, i just think we would need to see more of body of work before we throw around 8-10mm a year for a guy who has played 10 good games in his career.

8mm+ is the new standard MLE 10mm is the equivalent of a 6mm$ contract paid out last year.

Bazemore's an UFA at the end of the year. What's he going to get offered? I think he's fantastic and still a bit underrated but . . . he's a sixth man on a good team so while he deserves a raise (he's a steal right now for Atlanta at $2 million) what's he worth? Nothing near max. Well, point is, whatever Bazemore is worth, I'd say Seth Curry is worth a little less, whatever the next step down might be.

IF we are going to keep Carmelo--to me get aggressive--gets Bazemore Gasol Curry and see if we can trade into the draft for Valentine. Even though younger I like the possibilities of Curry Valentine Grant Wroten Bazemore. We can add another veteran like DJ Augustine perhaps ??? when the smoke clears.

If they end up with a backcourt of Bazemore Curry Grant Valentine and Wroten and add Gasol, I'll feel like Red Auerback and light a cigar.

You know what -- I'm down for Seth Curry. First off, I like him as a player. Nice little player...Second, he could give us a better shot at landing Steph in FA after next season. Who wouldn't want to come play with his brother?? That's got to be an intriguing idea for the whole Curry family...Maybe we go hard for Seth Curry, Luke Walton as coach (he's a Phil Jackson guy, he's got the connection with Steph and he could also bring some fresh/modern/winning ideas to the party to supplement the triangle) and a couple of other solid cost-efficient pieces: I like Solomon Hill as a Lance Thomas replacement/potential D-Will replacement (he's also skilled enough to play 2G), maybe PJ Hairston and/or Terrico White at the 2 (try to find our own Kent Bazemore w/o doling out a ton of cash -- Bazemore himself was undrafted and basically discovered by GS--spent a lot of time in the DL his rookie year as a warrior), maybe look to grab a PG guard in the 2nd round somehow (Ferrell, Felder, Paige?), bring in DL PG Corey Walden for a close look for summer league/training camp -- maybe that's the offseason right there. Carmelo hopefully remains productive, RoLo's a good piece in the middle, KP continues to take big steps forward, hopefully Wroten surprises -- even if Steph never came here, everything's still moving in the right direction.. But could that all be enough to lure Steph Curry here? I dunno. Maybe. We execute a plan close to this--I'd say we'd have a better chance than we did of landing LeBron a few years ago. Big question would be can we open up max cap room for Steph a little over a year from now?

He'll never have to buy a drink in a bar again there. 2 potential rings , maybe more, a Hall of Fame career, and playing for a coach like Steve Kerr, not to mention playing alongside Klay and Draymond???

Unless something drastic happens, that'd be like Michael Jordan leaving the Bulls in his prime.

You're probably right. But we know he and his dad wanted NY on draft night a few years back. Couple that now with the idea of playing with his brother who by next year you figure will be an established/productive NBA player. Big difference between him leaving GS and LeBron leaving Cleveland -- LeBron left w/o winning anything for that city. And he still hasn't won it all there. Michael won multiple championships in Chicago. Like Michael--Steph gave back to that city. Steph leaving GS would be shocking but I don't think that city would show him anywhere near the hostility Cleveland showed LeBron. Look, it's remote, I get it, but I think there's more of a possibility, with Seth already here and the team playing better ball year, then w/o Seth. Is that not fair to say? Getting Luke Walton could help as well (what's his contract situation with GS again?).

Steph's got 2 very young daughters (I think 3 and 1) so even a year from now, it's not like he'd have to worry about his kids leaving their friends behind, etc. Even if we got Seth/Walton, I just don't know if we could offer Steph a max deal a year from now. I feel like we'd need to add very little to the cap this offseason to make that happen. Am I right on that? Sucks because I wouldn't be looking to go nuts this offseason but I'd still like to see them add a couple of decent players to the mix this summer and keep building.

Agree with your sentiments. Seth would be a good young stop gap. Our best bet at a marquee player close to Curry's stature in their prime is an all out assault on landing Russell Westbrook in 2017.

Russ and OKC will probably get bounced in the 1st or 2nd round this year and entering free agency next. If the Knicks are smart they'd appeal to Russell's fashionista/business building side and offer to buy Russell the whole Niketown building on 57th street to market the shyt out of him.

Offer to build a billboard of him and KP facing MSG. He and Krisptaps would absolutely run this city.

Curry _might_ head to Charlotte toward the end of his career but . . . the Knicks had their chance and that was that. I can see Curry playing some years after his prime, maybe taking a Reggie Miller-type role, maybe playing until he's 40 and retiring as a spot-up shooter and player/coach, maybe playing a year or so in Charlotte before he runs for the Senate but . . . I can't see him moving to a rebuilding project while he's in his prime.

The only way Curry in his prime is going to be at MSG with his bro is with Riley on his lap watching uncle Seth lead the Knicks to the conference finals (after the Warriors sweep and he has a few days off).

Sounds completely doable! My guess is this is the kind of move Phil is likely to make. He's been pretty reserved with how he's spread the cap around since last summer.
