Knicks · Predict 2016-2017 Starting Line-up: End of Regular Season Edition (page 1)

Knixkik @ 4/13/2016 4:46 PM
Subject to change of course, but right now i'll say:

C Lopez
PF Porzingis
SF Anthony
SG Fournier (4 years 45 mil, good shooting/high IQ guy)
PG Rondo (4 years 50 mil, Melo will have influence over this move)

I'm sure we will do this every couple of months, but what is your prediction right now?

This actually an ideal starting line up. Melo, KP and Rolo need a floor leader like Rondo. Rondo needs a quality shooter/ball handler next to him also and Fournier is that guy. I would sign off on this and say let's go to war!

BRIGGS @ 4/13/2016 6:05 PM

I can't pay Seth Curry 4 years 42 million. $10 million per for a dude that's pissed away every opportunity he's had until now? That's a big commitment... how about 2 year 12 million? Even that's too much. I would have to throw in a team option.

Yes, I was gonna mention the same. $10M per is insane, especially over 4 years unless you see a young 2-way player.

Agree, also I see Phil going after top notch 2 guards. He might be content with a grant,tw,Gallo at the one. just like Seth, grant played great for the final run . Now a grant, curry, worton pg is much more fun to watch. I do feel like teams will be gunning for Seth just to have one more reason for Steph to go sign with his bro. But I don't see Seth getting a linsane contract
fitzfarm @ 4/14/2016 12:11 PM
I see Phil going all in on Durant or derozen. And I think he's going to sell the shit outta KP being great and we just need one more piece to be a contenders.

A Lopez,KP,melo,damarr,grant

Would be deadly and talk about a great defensive backcourt

My major concern is a lack of shooting in that lineup, no elite 3-pt shooters, but the talent would be great i agree. And beggars can't be choosers so i would be happy with that.

True but how many people want to see grant get more burn after some great showings also that shot of his has improved tremendously. He's still a rookie but definitely the best pg we have right now. I would be ok with a grant, worton pgand see if it works,if not 2017 has a lot of pg free agents

fitzfarm @ 4/14/2016 12:42 PM
This could also happen lol

Lopez
KP
Melo
Lebron
Wade

I might puke in my mouth a little but we all know they would probably win and contest for a few chips.

Not to mention STEPH CURRY'S current deal is 4yrs $44M. Seth Curry only gets $2M less than his brother? On the bright side, when Steph came to the Garden, he'd probably be looking to drop 75pts on his overpaid bro.

The great thing about it is there is no sell this time. Guys that love the game already know what's going on in NY. I credit Phil for firing Fisher and getting Rambis in there to clean things up. Players should be able to see their role right away. It's not like last off season. At least that's my hope.

crzymdups @ 4/14/2016 2:52 PM
I like Fournier a whole bunch, I actually think he'd be perfect here. But I don't think Orlando will let a RFA walk. They re-signed Tobias, even though they didn't really want him, just so they could trade him. But otherwise, I think your logic is sound. I would covet Lance Stephenson, but I don't see it. I would covet Conley, but I don't see it.

I'll go,

C: Blatt

1: Brandon Jennings, Grant, Wroten
2: Courtney Lee, Galloway, Vujacic
3: Melo, Lance, DWill
4: Porzingis, David Lee
5: Lopez, Hernangomez, KOQ

I think they'll overpay Jennings, and I do think he kinda wants to be in NYC and get some spotlight and a chance to become a star again. David Lee wants to be back and the Knicks need a real post option off the bench, I think maybe he comes on a slight discount - I think the wild card in the role could be Pau Gasol. Courtney Lee just makes sense to me on some level, not sure why. But we shall see. I think they buy out or stretch Calderon to get some extra FA $$.

That's prediction, not necessarily desired.

Another way I think they could go is to just target Batum and stick with Grant, Wroten, Calderon at PG. They'd probably eventually realize Batum is more of a SF and have to find a SG then though. And they'd go Batum 3, Melo 4, KP 5 at times throughout the game.

C: Blatt

1: Grant, Wroten, Calderon
2: Nic Batum, Galloway, Vujacic
3: Melo, Lance, DWill
4: Porzingis, David Lee
5: Lopez, Hernangomez, KOQ

EnySpree @ 4/14/2016 3:29 PM
If we are faced with signing Jennings I would rather roll with Grant and Wroten. All 3 are basically the same player. Grant and Wroten are the better defenders.

I can deal with Courtney Lee. He's a soldier piece. He'll come to work and do his job.

It's a good point, but i really think they might if he gets a big offer. They have Oladipo, Gordon, and Payton who will all need contracts in the next couple of years and are really pushing to get a max free agent there. They are desperate for that star player (or the closest they can get) and something has got to give at some point. They are small market and have gone this path long enough, so they might feel the pressure to make a big push for someone and let him walk. Not likely, but possible.

we are entering the "everybody will be overpaid era"

I'm almost certain with all the teams with cap space, you better be prepared to over pay to get the guy, but seth is a 4.5 mill per, at best, that's being generous considering he just got called up 2 months ago

I think Seth is going to get an MLE which is 4 years 34mm--used to be 5 years 28mm. Why wouldnt a team give him an MLE or even a tad higher?
