Knicks · What Is It With (Some Of) Youse People in New York . . . (?) (page 1)

Malcolm @ 4/19/2016 2:07 AM
I'm starting to lose it a little bit.

WILL YOU GET IT THROUGH YOUR THICK SKULLS ALREADY
THAT PHIL JACKSON IS GOING TO RUN THE TRIANGLE (?)

Triangle players . . . Triangle coach . . . Triangle everything.

It's all Triangle (!)

Will the newspapers just stop whining about it already (?)

gunsnewing @ 4/19/2016 2:25 AM
Someone say 'Youse' or 'Yoots'
nixluva @ 4/19/2016 2:36 AM
This is NY! The media has a reputation for a reason. Phil seems like he is moving ahead with his plan and ignoring the media pressure to do things the way they suggest. Things like switching to a PnR offense and hiring Thibs. It's not just the print media but ESPN jumps in as well. On a certain level the things they say make sense but not when you're talking about Phil Jackson who has his own way of doing things.

It's an insult to Phil to have these guys questioning him and suggesting to him what they think he should do. Imagine you were the best at what you do and you have some dudes telling you you're wrong! Phil obviously believes in himself.

It's not even insulting.

It's simply USELESS to talk about ditching the Triangle.

Completely, utterly, absolutely . . . USELESS.

Jackson is going to run the Triangle (!)

There is not 1 in a trillion chance that he's NOT going to run the Triangle.

There will be a cure for cancer . . . aliens will arrive from outer space . . .
and Jesus Christ will return to earth . . . all before Jackson abandons the
Triangle.

i was driving back to brooklyn last night and tuned into steve somers's show. around 8pm he had an audio montage that basically keel-hauled jackson and in his comments in the wake of the montage he even went as far as to mention that some knicks want dolan to intervene.

i found the representation so ridiculous that i actually called in and gave him a piece of my mind.

Some people come here because they want to offer suggestions about what the organization *should* do, rather than predictions about what it *will* do.
If we restrict ourselves to discussing only what the organization will do, then we should all start looking for overrated, aging big name players to offer huge contracts to. That's what we've done the past 15 years. We should search for and discuss every possible way to create a 30 win roster.

Yep, and the dudes that are telling you you're wrong don't and never have even been in the business you're in. They just watch from the outside.

I don't think anyone doubts it - we just question whether that's the right idea.

Nalod @ 4/19/2016 12:40 PM
He is also smug about it. So it irks and media loves it.

It's not just the Triangle. During the End of season presser, Phil specifically told the press to cool their jets for a while concerning the coaching search because NOTHING was going to happen for a few weeks.

Within 24 hours the MSM was running stories about Walton. The press has gone full bizarro.

Steve Somers talking making noises about the NBA? That in itself is a ridiculous concept, let alone the content itself.

Wish I heard the dk7th call in! Can you get a copy of the showtape and post it here?

I think this has been fully establish, especially with an "April triangle training camp"
