old school coach who couldnt modernize his philosophies. They have some nice young prospects and its freaking LOS ANGELES so maybe they get a decent coach or get Walton

but i dont care about them. lol. im looking at how this relates to my knicks. Jim Buss said that if the lakers werent a contender in 3 yrs then he'd step down. This upcoming yr will be year three and theyre FAR from a contender. Jeannie Buss would then fully run the show - it wouldnt surprise me if she pulls her fiancee Phil out of NYC to return to LA (where he originally wanted to go)

the only way it affects us is that Luke pretty much goes there (not that he would have come to this train wreck anyway)

One thing LA always has is superstars. Never seen a team gifted so much by the draft. Magic, Kobe Worthy it always amazed me how that team gets replenished with Draft, Free Agency and Trades. Lakers have always been the Leagues best kept secret. The west coast team needs The Lakers to be good. Good for rating.

Kobe was traded to the Lakers on draft day.

Lakers showtime was some brilliant positioning after the Kareem trade where they were able to get Worthy.
They have been very fortunate in how they got Shaq as well. IN time the Memphis trade was a win/win althought it looked awful at first.

This is Jack Kent Cook and Dr. Jerry having good long range vision and willing to build a culture that supports and grows. This is why Dolan Paid 12mill to have phil do.
Some of you wanted Phil to bring a chip, then build a culture. Don't work that way.

Kobe was drafted 13th. Kobe needed until his third season to really start making an impact.
