This is worst result possible for team development.
50% will not get us into playoffs or at best guarantied 1st round exit.
We will not get any god use of our own first round pick also.
The goal must be to develop young players and establish team identity on the offense and defense.
Solidify professional approach to work among players, coaches, and front office.
Take team out of spotlights completely and concentrate on the future after extended defunct years of sucking.
Winning will come along all this things as they will get established.
Great blog article on Ainge/Stevens rebuilding the Celtics since 2010 versus the Lakers approach. It is a Celtic blog but Ainge has done a super job.

For all of the talk of Hinkie and his goldmine of future picks, Boston may have the better position on that. 3 straight drafts of Brooklyn picks.

I agree. They are off to a great start. They also would be a really likable team if they weren't the Celtics.

It should require that we don't acquire old ass broken down players (whether those qualify as starphucks or not)

Then were stuck with mediocre cap fillers and can't sign a real major league free agent if we wanted to. More importantly, we phuck up our 2017 draft position hard and probably end up out of the lottery.Real Knicks fans would clamor for .200 or less with no major signings so we tank properly get a top 5 pick and can make a realistic run at Russell Westbrook next summer.
lol...your joking right?
So you want Knicks go back to Middle ages of 1248...
We already are in late inquisition state but you want to push us even deeper into primitive state?

Close but the worst position is being a lottery team without its draft pick!

Why wouldn't we get any good use of our own first round pick? Or is this a case of just naming all the worst case scenarios for the route that you don't agree with.
At the same time if we suck really badly it would mean that KP and Grant are farther behind in there development. Or do we assume the best case scenario for the tank that KP & Grant don't grow enough early on in their careers so that we can suck right now. Or how about the worst case scenario for the tank, which KP and Grant don't progress enough, we suck really bad, and our lotto pick turns out to be an average nba player.
Then there is the scenario which we add an instant impact vet at the guard position to go with Lopez, KP, Melo,. Then by yr 3 when KP turns into a really good player. He becomes that X factor that makes us a contender in the east. Then we use future cap flexibility to pair stars together with him after we build that credibility.
