I'll take Kosher Blatt over Ram Piss anyday. Enough of this stupid phucking nepotism going on.

Yes. He's 10x the in-game coach Rambis is. I'd be okay keeping Rambis as an assistant. Though I could see Blatt being uncomfortable about that, given what happened in Cleveland with Lue undermining him.

still curious how melo ok's this if lebron hated the dude.

Same way he has OK'ed every other decision Phil has made. Phil just nods his head and does what he wants anyway.

Despite the sig-worthiness of that post, you might just want to think about reconsidering that stance.

So much for the BS info. out there about Blatt being a smokescreen and Rambis being the only serious candidate. I voted yes to Blatt.

2 things -- (1) I'd like hear an explanation by the 2 who voted 'no' on this and (2) why did LeBron hate this guy?

he still has a say since he is making a boatload of money with an NTC. The only way he does not have a say is if phil and him are already at serious odds.

From what I saw of him in Cleveland, Blatt's a very good coach, perhaps one of the better active coaches. I have not followed his career or his time in Cleveland carefully so I have no idea how he is at the non-coaching parts of coaching, managing other coaches/players/trainers/owners/media/etc. However, he's been doing it for a while and the coach part of coaching is the most important so, yes, hire his ass.

We have no actual idea whether it's a smokescreen yet or if Blatt is being given a real chance. Phil could just be interviewing him to appease Mills/Dolan and to counter media perception it's a one-horse race.

If we cannot recruit Luke Walton
how about Pau Gasol? as a Head Coach

He was very under rated on the Lakers and would help KP develop in the system and Triangle

Whether he plays 1, 2, maybe 3 seasons, or coaching right away...
Players salaries are going up and so are coaches, so if we insist on the Triangle, we should consider it...

I think we should still get better development coaches and trainers
Jermaine Oneil, Rasheed Wallace, Billups, all translate to the system with their versatility/high characters/and skill sets despite never playing wit Phil
Battier *for defense and playing as a role player and 4th/5th option*

maybe even reunite some former Lakers like

Odom
Horry
Ron Harper
Brian Shaw
Pippen/Kukoc

Bynum

I say offer Walton 8-12million along wit incentives, and it would allow us to increase our chances GREATLY in recruiting actual talent
EVERYONE wants to play like GS and we need that advantage with the cap going up the next couple of seasons

Pretty sure Lakers will go for Walton and Whiteside to go wit their young core and massive cap space

IMO
the trio of Lopez/KP/CA will never work together
they simply are not good enough on DEFENSE, take up space to spread the floor, are slow, and do not score the 50-60% overall with consistency needed on those Lakers/Bulls teams whether it was Jordan/Shaq/Gasol and Bynum

that is assuming that we can not recruit TOP TIER PG and SG combos...

maybe something like

Kevin Love to Clippers
CA to Cleveland
Blake to Boston

and we get multiple draft picks and young guys/cap space to work with

The only 2 young players that I can see that has the talent on the POST are Cousins and (maybe Whiteside if he continues to develop his OFF game but he is a stud in terms of REBs and DEF)
I would like to add some versatile F's that can shoot to go with small ball like

Jon Leur/Mirza Televic

SF/PF
maybe Luke Babbit
Chase Budinger

dont think Pacers picked up Solomon Hills option for a G/F for defense
I personally do not think Early will develop as we anticipated and hoped when we drafted him

GoNyGoNyGo @ 4/27/2016 3:23 PM
I think he could be the Knicks Joe Torre.

The thing that makes me wary is how badly he used Kevin love- makes me a bit wary as to how he'd use KP

You act as if Melo and Lebron think the same way. Obviously they don't or Melo would be better but I know this is a different situation but look at Wade and Spoelstra. Wade liked Spoelstra and Lebron still wanted him gone. Also, Melo is friends with Kobe and he respects Phil does that means Melo respects Phil? Carmelo is also a rep for Team Jordan and is close with him too but probably looks at Phil differently.

VCoug @ 4/27/2016 6:53 PM
If my options are Rambis and literally anybody else I'm taking literally anybody else, no questions asked.

kevin Love did not like rambis, they bump heads like crazy, and thats one of the many reason he was let go. Phil is fortunate to have drafted some very high character rookies and signed some high character vets, because there would have been a lot more said about rambis.

There's 3 thing Rambis should never have anything to do with

1)Game plan
2)rotations
3)and developement

His job is teaching the triangle, that's it. When that's not working you have a real experience head coach who knows who to play, when to play, how to play, and what they should play giving the circumstances.

He doesn't have the luxury of putting the ball in a proven leaders hand (kobe and jordan) who can control the floor and game when things get stale, and predictive.

Just read Kenny Anderson's blog about losing his Dad. Great stuff and worth the read. I checked out some more of his blog and he compared Mark Jackson to Chuck Daly and called Chuck the greatest coach he ever played under. This was an old post but he doesn't have many. The Knicks supposedly contacted MJax about the coaching position. Hopefully he is still in consideration. Kenny's quote about MJax is from right before Karl got hired in Sac.
With the recent firing in Sacramento, it makes perfect sense for Mark Jackson to sit down in that interview chair and become the next coach of the Kings. He’s a great fit for that young team. Jackson reminds me a lot of Chuck Daly. Daly was best coach I ever played for, and the biggest reason for that was because he was able to deal well with many, many different personalities.

I'm reminded of an old Al Bundy insult from 'Married with Chidren."

Al and Katie are sitting on the couch and Katie's reading a poll from some women's magazine.

Katie: "A: you can spend time with your wife or B..."

Al (cutting her off): "B"

In that light, if Rambis is A:, I'll take B: sight unseen.

I'm gonna say you get a whole lot of...."rather him than Rambis" posts.
