Hes one of the players who are rated low in the mocks--who actually have significant NBA upside at 6-9 240

Not seeing a whole lot of daylight under those shoes, and his moves are very mechanical. His jumpers from every area look incredibly blockable.

Hes more than a good enough athlete at 6-9 240-- a skill player with a great NBA body. Who exactly is blocking his shot at 6-9 when he has the handle to put it on the floor and go right around you if you edge up on him? Hes a prototypical NBA stretch 4 Can you name 1 player in the draft besides Bentil who has the same inside outside skill at his size? --hes really the only 1 with an NBA physique. He was one of the better F in the country and his jump from freshmen to soph in terms of output was meteoric . Not many players in the Big east over the last 25 year have avg 21-8 as a sophomore ? You look at his diversity--hes a quality defensive player who rebounds and has shown offensive explosiveness and a burgeoning all around game. This is a guy who did 40-10 in the BE tourney. At 40- 50 you're talking serious value. You just dont get young bigs with his skills at that range and I wouldn't doubt if he climbs up. This guy has Paul Millsap 2 written all over him. Millsap also went 47 in the draft.

how in the world do you/could you see milsap from a video that does not show the brain side of what a guy like milsap brings? Seriously?

Also, Milsap is a great athlete and this guy looks quite slow (though its only a youtube video).

I don't know if a player like this would be a priority for us. He's simply a value pick given that we might not have a pick before 40. When you're talking about players 13-14-15 then you start looking more for players like this than a 33 yo Lou admunson . When we talk draft this year we have to assume 40 to undrafted.i think the strategy I would use on a pretty talented 2 nd rd is to look to see if we can buy a couple of picks and maybe 1 undrafted player to bring to summer league

I fully expect Phil to do this as he has looked to add picks every summer.

what part of that clip did you see similarities? I did not see any? Does not mean that they are different but I have no idea what that clip showed you. I have never even seen milsap takes shots like that, and milsap is much faster. Also, milsap's game is 70 percent IQ - how do you judge that when making a comp?

I think you can see excellent touch on his long range shot with a quick release. You can also see quick moves in the post with good footwork and very good ballhandling skills for his size. He actually looks like a combination of Antwan Jamison and Millsap. When you are first team all BE as a sophomore and you avg 21-8 with good D with his physical frame. He lead the BE getting fouled by a wide margin avg 7 FTA a game. What Phil would look at him would be the size and his ability to hit that mid range shot that extends out to 3. A guy we could use behind KP off the bench at 4 if we cant retain Lance Thomas.

Right Briggs, because where in the world is anyone going find anyone in the the NBA that's 6'9" to guard him? Also, since he rises a whole 2 inches off the floor on that slow mechanical jumper he's taking, who exactly needs to edge up on him to block his jumper? And his unguarded dunks barely get his hands over the rim. Boy has no hops. I coached a 6'4" Nigerian kid in highschool who has better, more fluid skills, and much better leaping ability. Before you start drafting this kid's All Star ballot, why don't you wait until he's got some highlights with his NBA body against some NBDL-level talent?

The rest of your points I concede, although the Big East isn't exactly what it used to be, is it Briggs?

Hes a good player for a pick in the 40's. If you view every player based on super athletic ability you'll miss 80% of good players right? Klay Thompson wasnt a great athlete at Washing ton State was he? Steph Curry did win any dunk contests that I watched? We do need a really good athlete or 2 but this would be a fine pick for a guy to replace Lance Thomas if he moves on with more upside than Lance. We have bigger fish to fry anyway in the backcourt. The BE is not good? Who won the NC? And Bentil had a 32-13 game on Villanova.

from what i saw he was very athletic with a HUGE motor. what stood out was his development of an outside shot. also dont forget he broke his toe (i think?) towards the end of the season...so he was limping and wasnt the same. in fact thats why providence began to slump. he was limping around

Is there any other PF like him in the draft? I guess the question in the NBA--can he play inside as well as he did in college and can he improve his 3 pt accuracy? I look at his physique and he just looks like 245 hard as a rock at peak--thats more than strong enough inside. I think hes going to move up during his career to be a 40% 3 pt shooter. He plays hard great body good footwork for his age. Well see signs in the SL of what he is right away. My guess is that he will be a 2nd round steal.
