Tragedy...

It doesn't really mean the coaching search is over. Rambis is going to remain with the Knicks no matter who they bring in as coach. He may even be brought up stairs in some capacity. If Rambis does actually get the job IMO it's not the end of the world. He's not the reason the team was losing this season. The team was having issues before he took over. IMO if Phil can make good additions this summer that's what is going to make the biggest difference in terms of wins.

All of these other coaches people are clamouring for are Old School Guys much like Rambis. Blatt, Vogel, Thibs, Joerger all ran traditional style offenses. If they came here Phil is gonna still want them to run the Triangle. So really what are fans going so crazy about? Yes I do think Blatt and Vogel might be better in game coaches, but no one has a metric to show just how much better they actually are than Rambis. How do you quantify that? How many wins does a Blatt or Vogel add to a team by virtue of their in game coaching? It's really hard to place a number on it.

He was there last year as well.

again (and I'm sure again), blatt is not old school. You can keep saying that but its not true.

Thibs went to GS to learn their offense and he has admitted that he needs to get much better at understanding the modern offense.

Vogel says that he is behind and learning but obviously not fast enough for bird who is smart enough to understand that the NBA has changed and he better change with it.

Don't know much about Joerger but not sure how you know what school he is in.

Rambis - DEFINITELY OLD SCHOOL SO YOU WERE SPOT ON THERE AT LEAST.

How you going to call Rambis old school when he thinks KP could play small forward.

with no draft pick, it makes sense..

Rambis has a protracted losing record. Part of creating a system is having a coach that is associated with winning and demanding the best of his players. Phil can show off his rings but he's removed. Vogel is young and has had some success. Blatt too comes from a winning environment. Thus to the fans and substantively it makes sense to relegate Rambis to offensive coach - and where the triangle is executed.

You realize you didn't prove I was wrong? All you did was mention comments that Thibs and Vogel were aware of modern offense but their history is running traditional offenses. Joerger coached Memphis! I mean come on.

BLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATTTTTTTTTTTTTT for the 50th time?

and I know that analytical reasoning is not your strength but admitting that you have a problem is the first step to recovery (vogel/thibs).

Joeger coached memphis but did you take into account their personnel?

Even if you take Blatt and give him a Modern Offense guy tag the rest all ran Traditional Offenses for their NBA careers.

ok ... so lets hire blatt.

or lets hire a coach who even if they are a bit old school, at least they are trying to transition.

or lets hire the best old school coach available for our prehistoric offense.

All the coaches that would be brought in are gonna be asked to run Triangle! 😈

There's no getting around it until Phil decides otherwise and I don't see that happening anytime soon. You might as well get it in your head that you're team is gonna be running Triangle.
