sooo far outta left field
but I think we out to wait till everything is actually done
hope it aint kerr part 2
but how does this work?
according to the vaunted media phil was looking narrowing at his tree and no one else could be brought in.
in fact phil was in Montana and not caring about the search
Does the media lie to us to sell papers. and get internet hits?
say it aint so

My sentiment exactly

Wait. Wait.
Somebody help me with this, please.
What reality am I in tonight (?)
Is this the same universe in which a Phil Jackson won 11 rings with the Triangle (?)
Or have I swapped into an alternate universe again (I just hate when that happens . . .)

Wow. What an awesome sound bite. Also, Jeff is not going to be required to run the triangle. That is huge and again speaks to how way off the press was with their assumptions.
This is surprising to say the least. I know he was interviewed, but it seemed like more of a due-diligence type thing more than anything. Sure enough it wasn't. I am plesently surprised, but i almost get the feeling this is the first sign of Phil's inevitable departure.
I am definitely happy with this. I was surprised when I read,Phil interviewed him, but had started to hope this would happen from that point on. A true professional, a class act as a player and a hard-core defense minded SOB. I can't ask for more than that.
Great hire by Phil, and totally loved the FU he delivered to the all knowing insufferable media.
So should we just all light our "11 rings" hard covers with a Bic and kerosene?
Hire makes zero sense in every facet. Lost more than Fisher and Rambis, from the Jerry Sloan pick and roll tree, teams played zero defense in Phoenix, and routinely went small ball versus big which is the Knicks "strength".
Dumb phucking hire. Dude will try to squeeze wins out of a poorly constructed roster jeopardizing our chances at a high lottery pick in a strong 2017 draft. Rather have Rambis for this purpose.
Misery.

I don't understand this hire . . . either.
teeebrowne wrote:I am so happy about this hire. Let's just hope he can also develop KP into the player he's capable of being. Also, it will be interesting to see if he has the autonomy to bring in all his own guys, or if Phil will force him to keep Rambis.
Whats interesting is that you joined tomorrow. Mutombo is that you?
Does no triangle signal the end of New-Melo, Team-Melo, Dad-Melo or whatever you guys were calling him? Does this signal the end of the Phil Jackson experiment, the rebirth of Mills and dare I say it the return of Isiah & the 2 guard offense?

I hear China MVP Marbury is still in great shape. Perfect if we're going to segue from a Triangle offense to a pace and space zero defense perennial 8th seed knockout.
So Many Phil detractors in the media. Little Lupica and Azzola among them. Lots of positive happening to the Knicks and this another one of them. The # 4 pick, Lopez maybe Wroten, Willy, and JEff H. Good stuff Phil. Now let's spend $30 million and secure talent i.e. Batum, Fournier, Bazemore, a big shooting guard who plays D. Someone who can score 17-18 a game and play tough D

All you guys think about is Melo.

You knows but does this mean Melo has now become Jedi/Zen-Melo for getting Phil to do a real search?
crzymdups wrote:Interesting. I would've preferred Blatt or Vogel. But Hornacek seems good. Though what made him good was using the two point guard pace and space attack. Very curious. Will be very interested to see what Phil says about this if true. Beck is saying on Twitter that negotiations are early but mutual interest. Have to wonder if we'll be playing the Triangle next year. Which makes me wonder if Phil lost a power struggle. Other people saying this on Twitter too.
Through all your theorizing based off the info you collected through media rumors, sources, analyzing Phils words/intentions. How close were you to seeing this coming?

Well he does have a No Trade Clause, right?
Guarantees instant team mediocrity for the next 3 years.

Can't wait until Melo and Horny butt heads!
interesting hire. im not mad, im not happy, but im excited to see how it turns out. i know hornacek ran alot of spread offense, which could be nice, but we don't have a whole lot of shooting. hopefully there are some ways to mesh the spread with the triangle. it'll be fun to watch. i don't know how guys like lupica can badmouth this pick and to bring up hornacek's coaching record this year is beyond silly. lupica is a miserable, pathetic human. love how the media immediately also starts saying this signals phil's departure. just keep making up shit as you go...

I was uncertain but since chuck added this, I now know this is the right hire.
We don't have understand it. It just is. What a coach was is not always where he goes in the future.
