Knicks · No shock if NBA 'double standard' fails to suspend GS D.Green ..Recall NYK Pat Ewing NBA playoffs suspensions? (6) (page 1)
I really am in middle of the 'Kick' in groin (gonads) of
PF star Draymond Green to OKC Adams, nasty looking but not sure if 100% intentional?
KICKED hard in family Jewels.
I Like D.Green of Warriors
However What the Bo-Diddley is taking so long ? What's going on here ? Quoting late D_ic Young sportswriter of NY Daily news
OH The GS Warriors is the 'new' Chi-Bulls. I like GS BUT I'm 150% Knick fan for live
However since we talk NBA Knicks of our beloved current Knicks
our past Ewing Knicks got 6 SIX ...SSSIIIXX of our Knicks canned 1 game suspension
For lame rule of leaving bench few feet to check on teammates Or make sure his teammates are safe at least
KNICKs 6 players suspension vs NBA HEAT nba playoffs
http://www.nydailynews.com/archives/news...
Yes it was under the David 'Mike Jordan lover' Sterns era.
However I don't recall Ewing our superstar KNICK of that era 90's punching
also neither kicking OR any physicality toward the Hated HEAT in key NBA playoffs series.
But we know the guy Green isn't getting suspended.
Tells us how KNICKS org. get kicked down in NBA
without even being in these playoffs..
Believe you me if Knicks had a player Whom kicked a peers 'nutts'
inadvertantly OR intentionally,
KNICKS player would get a Suspension not any fine (Rich NBA players can afford it)
You can write that !
The name can be Pat Ewing, can be Earl Or Clyde (he won't do it anyway)
it can be Carmello Anthony.
Any Knick done that would get canned 1 game
period...

I guess this is open to interpetation
I lost a lot of respect for Silver for this.
callmened wrote:i thought it was questionable. for a team trying to make history as the BEST ever, i wouldnt want them to lose without one of their best player. there would be a "whatif" asterisk in the record books. i think silver realized this and did the right thing. stern of course wouldnt care...he would kick out green and anyone else
Don't agree with this at all- how is it fair to have special rules for popular teams because they are popular?
The knicks were hot heads and the Heat knew they could bait us into doing something stupid.
With Green, I suppose they don't want the outcome of the series determined by something that was perhaps open to interpretation. It did not effect the outcome of the game. Personally Im no fan of Green and thought its was not premeditated, but it was a punk move for sure.

Agree w this 100%
As it is the league suffers when it seems some players get the foul calls that others don't. We all recall that game this year when the ref called a foul bc wade gave that look
This just shows the star bias is institutionalized. I lost whatever respect I had for silver.

The law is the law... or there is no low.
Silver does 100 things well, and this decision is likely done by committee and he loses respect?
We lose respect when we don't agree with a decision? No wonder we have our politicians as we do.
This is how Trump is winning. Lots of Republicans agree with him, but they don't respect him. They vote along the party line.
I respect Adam Silvers leadership even if I don't agree with this decision.

not just for popular teams...for GREAT historical teams. yes you dont want asterisks in the record books (like the 2009 suns)

these arent laws...these are basketball rules. meaning its not that deep. theyre left up to interpretation
2. Every other member of the Knicks, no Heat, 1997https://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nba-ball-...With brawls becoming more and more prevalent, even in the wake of the fading of Detroit’s Bad Boys, the NBA had to step up to curb the epidemic.
New York was involved in two of the more horrifying ones, with the English/Harper melee discussed above, and an extended regular season back and forth in Phoenix that saw inactive players in street clothes suddenly turn rather active:
As a result, the league put together a no-nonsense policy. If you take just a step off the bench to “defend” a teammate or even get a better look at an altercation, that’s an automatic suspension. If you throw a punch – no matter how feeble, no matter its success rate – that’s an automatic suspension for one game or maybe more. The Knicks and Heat were well aware of this as they lined up at the free throw line in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference semifinals, but that didn’t stop the bum rush:
Already on the bench due to the unwinnable nature of the final minutes of Game 5, Patrick Ewing, Allan Houston, Larry Johnson and Sixth Man Award winner John Starks left the pine to rush to Charlie Ward’s (who was also suspended) aid. That’s, like, all the good Knicks, and they were all suspended for a game. Charles Oakley, thankfully, had already been ejected for attempting to spar with Alonzo Mourning and was unable to influence the proceedings.Because of the sheer amount of Knicks suspended (no Heat player received a punishment), the league had to stagger things – Ewing, Ward and Houston were left out for Game 6’s home loss to Miami, LJ and Starks for Game 7. It was an unprecedented move, but with not enough active players available it was also a needed one.
Miami rolled, winning three in a row overall to move on to the next round. Though New York would make the Finals over Miami in 1999, by then Ewing was suffering from serious Achilles, knee and wrist injuries, and was never the same player following a late 1997 fall. It may have been his best chance to finally get past Michael Jordan.

this decision was unprincipled. They gave Dahntay jones a game suspension for what seemed like a lesser infraction; they provided absolutely no explanation about why this gets bumped to flagrant 2 (meaning the refs missed it) but no suspension in this case but one for Jones.
Silver is not good; i thought he was a clown with his subtle dig at the triangle (he's not there to be a celebrity, comedian, or analyst. He, like Stern before him, should just clam up)
this just confirms things. Institutionalized star treatment

Green got away with one there but he is a Star and the broadcasters on the post game all said that it was unintentional which gave the NBA an out so they did not have to suspend a star and give OKC the series. As much as I think that Green did it intentionally, as a fan, I did not want to see him sit since it will tarnish a potentially great series.
There is a "fix" and there is politics. This was a political issue and the NBA had a tough decision. I am happy that he is playing though he got a gift.

I really like JVG. I tend to think he goes overboard on wanting things not called. I think it said a lot when he said he thought the debate was one game or two. I have seen a lot of photos and videos from different angles. None made me question whether it was unintentional. Also, the Jones foul did not come close to what Green did. I thought Adams would be pissing blood for awhile.

I love JVG and he is usually spot on. He was right about the intention and if you asked him, he would have predicted that he gets away with it.
