Guess that means they ain't re-signing Dwight! He and MDA haaaaaaate each other from the Lakers days.

I could see Dwight going to the Mavs.

Rockets seem like a decent fit for MDA with their spread offense and analytics guys.

I can't see D'Antoni cajoling Harden to defend harder. And I wonder who they'll get to play center?

NYKBocker @ 5/26/2016 5:47 PM
Harden's numbers are going to go up even more. Bye bye Beverley
nixluva @ 5/26/2016 5:51 PM
Well it seems like a better fit for MDA than LA or NY. They actually believe in his style of ball. I suspect they'll actually support him and get him what he needs. I thought he was done with the Head Coaching thing but I guess he's a lifer.

I wonder if they get rid of Brewer also. It was a long time ago now but he was the reason the Knicks didn't keep Brewer when they acquired him.

If Harden is gonna be the high usage PNR ball handler. Then Beverly as the Raja Bell 3-D type complement fits.

mreinman @ 5/26/2016 6:16 PM
MDA was the money hire ... the rockets pretty much were already playing MDA style/tempo bball.
smackeddog @ 5/26/2016 6:37 PM
Should help with their defense....

They might keep Beverly. He can shoot the 3..... Brewer is gone though

MEH - who gives flying flip about the rockets anyways.
WaltLongmire @ 5/26/2016 9:07 PM
Wonder how many potential coaches turned the Rockets down?

I would assume none

That was the no brainer hire, thetz the system the have been desperate to get right. Now they got the guy who started the trend
CrushAlot @ 5/26/2016 10:15 PM
The Dream Shake put out a pretty negative article on the hire.

Dantoni doesn't appear to be a popular hire with rocket fans.

It's to be expected. Of all the spots he could've landed this makes the most sense.
crzymdups @ 5/26/2016 11:10 PM
Sort of surprised the Rockets didn't go for Blatt. Though I could see him clashing with Harden.

I'm sort of rooting to see MDA have success one last time. He got kind of a raw deal in both NY and LA.

HofstraBBall @ 5/26/2016 11:38 PM

Does this mean he lost his acting gig? He will not last the year.

Or Morey gets canned. Three years guaranteed.

Yep after the Melo trade decimated our roster depth, we ended up buying out/cutting Brewer before even giving him a shot (didn't we get him from the Twolves at the deadline?) because D'Antoni wouldn't give him playing time- it infuriated me at the time.

Ouch. That's a brutal move. I would think that makes them a lock to NOT make the playoffs
