we really need a glue guy.....No team wins a championship without one. A guy who rebounds, block shots and defends
Center Bismack Biyombo, a breakout star in the postseason, is expected to decline his player option and also become an unrestricted free agent on July 1. Ujiri conceded that re-signing both Biyombo and DeRozan might not be possible."But honestly, it's our jobs. We have to figure it out," he said
This is the type of player that KP and melo needs around them, dirty work rodman types.
I wish that we can sign him just to play home games.
You mean . . . like Rolo (?)
I hear this guy RoLo is pretty good on D and rebounding. What about the Knicks getting him?🤓
rolo doesn't play 48 minutes, and we have nothing coming off the bench, this guy had at least 3 games this season with 20 or more rebounds off the bench

I understand what you're getting at. I don't have a problem with Biyombo. I don't think Phil will spend on him tho. He's got young and cheap options to choose from. Phil will likely focus on guards n wings, so I don't really see a high likelihood of this kind of move happening. Even tho he's a good hustle player.

the young cheap options will give you what you pay for, the KOQ's the seraphins, the admundsons, those are players you can close your eyes and pick who come off the bench first, none of the cheap types are specialist, they're sometime guys. We need a big that has that energy like camby was.
I hope you don't think a couple of speedy guards who can shoot is all we need

I wasn't giving my opinion of what I think the team should do. I was merely stating what I suspect Phil is likely to do. I don't think he's going to spend money on a guy like Biyombo. I think he'll look to get a young guy like a Cheick Diallo and other Forwards the Knicks have interest in. Remember that this team has a different timeline they're working on with KP at the core. So they'll probably look for some young guys who can grow with the team. Sure they could go after a guy like Biyombo but I just get the feeling they will look for younger players for the long haul.
I'd love to see Bismarck Biyombo a Knick but, ahem, we need, like, five glue guys :)
Camby is possibly going to be a hall of famer. He was more than just an energy guy. I do get that we could use a couple more guys that get after it, that actually know the game and fuck shit up. O'Quinn is not that guy. Seraphim could be if he shows up in shape. We got Hernangomez coming next year too so that's good. Possibly Jordan bachynski or even Joakim Noah.....
Not really a hard thing to fill. We don't need to invest big money on that.

we pretty much need a whole new everything.
However, with the limited resources at hand, I think the greatest focus this summer is the back court. Would love to get a guy like Biyombo, but we also have Hernangomez who has to come over at some point. This coming season makes the most sense.
We've already tried this

I've been saying for months that we need a true big man that can come in for Rolo and rebound and play defense and of course Biyombo does all that but there's no way that Phil would or even should spend the kind of money it's gonna take to get Biyombo. He needs to get a big man that can do those things but for a much better contract than what Biyombo is gonna get so we can have money to spend at our biggest needed positions which we all know is guards and even another SF which i'm hoping will be either L.Thomas or D.Williams or even better both of them.

I get your point, Biyombo is not going to get no outrageous offers off of no decent playoff run, and i trust phil (as he has shown outside of melo) that he won't break the bank for no one.
He may say sign a similar deal to AA and Dwill, No ones really signing role players like him for more than 2 or 3 yrs. with Cap set to explode even higher next season, you could expect a lot of player options.
Seraphin still thinks he's better then he is, he's concern with his offense more than his defense and rebounding.

Hes going to get 8-12mm you guys are on ludes.
Biyombo isn't good and someone is going to really regret overpaying for him. Pass
Phil is probably going to be able to get a guy who does the grunt work but also can contribute in other ways. He won't have to overpay for that either. The Knicks aren't working guys out just for show. So far Phil has been pretty aggressive in adding multiple picks each draft and taking a look at UDFA's. He's most likely going to continue to look for value in those areas.

No effing way he gets that much. Any one who pays him that, will have a team option. Im telling you, Gm's are not that stupid and desperate anymore. .
