2017 pick restricted to 5 + 3mm for picks 16 and 31.

I'm pretty over trading picks. Haven't we learned the error of this by losing out on Joakim Noah, LaMarcus Aldridge, Gordon Hayward, and whoever is pick 9 this year? If we hadn't traded the 2016 pick for Bargnani we could just take Valentine at #9.

This is one thing I am very happy with Phil about so far - he isn't mortgaging the future.

Just pretend Wroten and Hernangomez are our draft picks this year. Maybe we're able to buy a first or second rounder, but I don't want to give up any actual assets to get into this draft.

In this draft I think O'quinn would be worth the # 16 pick. His contract and production would be great for a team that knows how to use him.

Youre just trading your 2017 or 2019 into this draft. This is a unique player--I think a player who can help change the tide for this club.

Hes not even close to the player--if he was--hed be able to do what Valentine did at a better school--he cant because hes not. This guy avg near a triple double for the year.

What we need on the team is a player who can make everyone better--thats Valentine and then specialty guards---Forbes 3 point shooter Cat Barber speed and high end penetration on unit 2.

Valentine and Crabbe would give us a really big backcourt 6-6 6-5

It is not a certainty that Valentine can play on the NBA level. He lacks the lateral quicness to defend and the first step to really blow by defenders. Plus, his body is a work in progress. He needs to get into better shape.

With that being said I think he would make a good pick but I doubt the knicks could get it done.

Im dead set positive that Id be right about this. I dont think Valentine will be there at 16 and I dont know what Boston would do--but if they want to flip their pick into 2017 If they threw in pick 36 Id give them back the 2017 with only top 5 protection.

If I can execute that trade--IF Valentine is there--I think I can get all 3 guards I love. If we did this--and get a big 2G in free agency--Crabbe--to go along with Grant and Wroten--wed be all set for 5-7 years. Young diverse athletic smart great shooters high IQ

I'm beginning to think Evan Turner will be a major target of the off-season.

Turner at SG, initiating a lot of the offense, playing alongside Wroten or Grant.

I don't think we can get Crabbe unless we severely overpay and history has proven that overpaying RFAs is a bad move.

What happens when you really want a player in the 2019 draft and instead of having pick 15 we have no pick?

What's even more impressive about Valentine's shooting, beyond the numbers, is the way he knocks down his jumpers, some of which come off the most complicated looks you can imagine. Valentine is frequently utilized as a floor-spacer, but is also very capable both running off screens and shooting pull-up jumpers. He does a great job of getting his feet underneath him and releasing the ball quickly, and has the ability to attack closeouts with straight-line drives and floaters when defenses play up on his shot too aggressively. Valentine is not afraid to take big shots and has had some very memorable moments in his college career hitting timely jumpers with a hand in his face and the clock running down.

Valentine's size, length and instincts also translates to his work on the glass, as his 8.5 defensive rebounds per-40 minutes was the top rate among any guard or wing prospect in our Top-100 prospect rankings, higher than many power forwards or centers in fact.

Valentine is the only player in our extensive college basketball historical database (dating back around 30 years) to average over 19 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists per game. The only ones to come close are Penny Hardaway (23, 8+6 as a sophomore at Memphis in 1993), Evan Turner (20, 9+6 as a junior at Ohio State in 2008) and Michael Anderson (24, 6+7 as a senior at Drexel in 1988).

he has a versatile skill set...just nothing JUMPS out athletically. I DONT understand this love affair with valentine (pun intended)
