very articulate.

Love Uncle Phils answers.

NYKBocker @ 6/3/2016 12:30 PM
Berman asked about Hornys leadership skills and Big Chief had like a 2 minute pause before answering. Then gave a really zen answer that I did not understand....ha ha ha.

Rambis future not yet decided.

Triangle will still be a part of the offense.

newyorker4ever @ 6/3/2016 12:34 PM
Can someone please link the press conference as soon as it's possible to do?? I'm at work and missed the whole thing.

This doesn't sound good to me.

How can they not have figured out what Rambis role will be by now (?)

I mean . . . come on.

Very disappointing . . .

This looks like nonsense to me.

The Knicks needed another full year of Triangle-24/7 to even start to
really see what it's all about.

Rambis had them reset their focus and head back in the right direction .

Now . . . they're never going to get there.

Their time and energy and focus will be distracted by new coaches and
learning so-called "modernizations" to something that they don't already
understand.

Looks like Jackson just love his nerve . . .

lol @ mills just sitting there...no one really asking him a question he seems a little ticked off from his expression.
Vmart @ 6/3/2016 1:42 PM
The Knicks could introduce coach after coach after coach without talent it's just another coach.

disagree, we had enough talent to make the playoffs last year.

I think this was an inspired move. Rather than continue to beat a dead horse Phil is injecting some life into the team. The time it would take to bring in players with BBIQ high enough to master the Triangle is prohibitive. So Phil is letting JH bring in some concepts that can help these players excel, while not completely abandoning the Triangle in the halfcourt. Fish wasn't wrong in trying to add easier elements but he just went about his job in the wrong way and his ability to blend the new concepts into the Triangle seemed lacking. I don't get the idea that Horny will be overwhelmed with the process of blending what he does with the Triangle and he's more receptive to input and communication with Phil.

This is not a bad move but a great move for this team. Opening up the offense in order to take better advantage of the players strengths is the right thing for this team. They've got all the time to gradually perfect Triangle but in the meantime they can be successful pushing the pace and running more familiar plays more frequently and less sloppy as it looked under Fisher. It's got to be a smoother blend, not unlike how the Spurs were able to blend Triangle and other things.

The most simple thing is pushing the ball which will create openings to score but also leave time on the shot clock to still get into the Triangle set if they have to. It's a very easy tweak and after that just blending in more PnR, which is also very simple. To run 4 out is also very simple since you only need to bring the 4 man out behind the 3pt line on the weak side. The Knicks already did this last year.

Was very happy to hear the words "Kristaps Porzingis" and "pick and roll" in the same sentence.

Hornacek is saying all the things I've always wanted to hear someone say about the Triangle. It's spacing. You can have high pick and roll, you can have three point shots, you can play fast. Music to my ears.

This is a good hire.

If we get a few upgrades at guard, we'll make the playoffs.

Then why start at all (?)

Either do it 100% . . . or don't do it at all.
