I see lots of mocks and suggestions that Wolves could pick Murray or Dunn. If so, Wolves might be thinking what to do with Rubio especially since they have Lavine and since Rubio doesn't look like a Thibs-guy
Ditto for the Celts. They're looking at guards (Hield and Murray) even though they seem to have an entire roster full of them.
Who will be a potential redundancy or cast-off that might be realistically available and helpful in a trade? We spent a lot of time analyzing FAs and draft picks (that we don't have). I think opportunity may be had in the cast-off market.
Who would you be thinking about?
if rubio becomes available i think you have to try to get him. he may not be a hornacek-type guard but he'd be a great defensive backcourt player as well as a good fit in the triangle offense. him and/or turner would be a big improvement. both would be a huge improvement.
"but they can't shoot from 3"
we have shooters enough in melo, kp, williams, calderon, galloway. we need guys who can defend in the backcourt and distribute.
I kinda wanna hear just who you think we have that could get us any legit players in a trade?? Of course the first one that always comes up is Rolo but after that we don't have anyone that could headline a trade, all we have is throw ins.
I think the Celtics let Turner go. He isn't a point guard but they have Marcus Smart. Turner probably gets a huge contract with the cap going up to 94 mil.

Depends on who the target is. The draft and/or free agency can creat logjams on other teams where they essentially need to dump people or pay a lot of money for someone who won't get a lot of PT
We have KOQ, Seraphin, Jose, Lance Thomas (I think), possibly future draft picks (though I'd prefer to hold those). We might have situations where teams would take something like that because it's simply better than nothing
Zach Levine? Not sure how Minny will value his future. Kid is a great athlete but lacks many fundamentals.

If the Bulls end up trading Butler I think they get Lavine. Talks have stalled though apparently. Chicago wants Wiggins.
who said Lavine was replacing Rubio? they (foolishly) tried the Lavine-at-PG experiment last yr and it failed. once he moved to SG, he averaged 16ppg. Rubio is a pass first defensive PG. im sure thibs will love him. i doubt rubio is up for sale (besides who can we offer for him anyways - answer? not much)
celtics know theyre full in the back court but what they need is shooting. they need interior defense (probably wont resign sullinger or amir johnson). I cansee them drafting bender, or trading down with denver to get gallinari (and hield) or signing anderson. my overall point is, i dont think theyre looking at guards since they have alot. theyre looking at bigs who can defend and wings who can shoot
