Knicks · Begley: Some in Knicks organization want to a run at Noah (page 1)

With Derrick Rose on board, some in the Knicks organization want to make a run at Bulls center - and soon to be free agent - Joakim Noah, sources say. Noah is close with Rose and has a good relationship with Knicks star Carmelo Anthony. He also grew up in New York. The Knicks sent center Robin Lopez to Chicago in the Rose deal and are in need of a big man. They will have at least $30 million to spend in free agency this summer. Another name to keep in mind is Dwight Howard. Sources say Howard would consider signing with the Knicks. It is unclear at this point if the Knicks are interested in Howard. Signing Howard to a max deal would eat up most of New York's cap space. It is unclear what kind of offer Noah is looking for. Other outlets have reported that the Knicks are interested in Noah. The trade for Rose on Wednesday only bolstered that interest for some in the organization.

Absolutely. Noah would be great. I would think he would only play 20-22 minutes a night and would be great for KP and the frontline.

We all know what he can do when healthy. Hornacek said he wanted to take advantage of secondary fast breaks....
This is our guy. We have the money to pay him. He should take what Rolo got on a 2 year deal. Let's make it happen

totally agree... I think he's a great player to have around KP as well. Keep him on a minutes restriction.. 18-20 mpg at most. Start him at center and KP at PF. Then first sub out KP moves to the 5.. something like that. He would really be a great role player for us... I would be thrilled to have him for a few years. Like Kurt Thomas with more game and impact.

I like him. I can see him back chilling in Williamsburg on the coming home tip. Short term deal and a lot of yoga hopefully all you need. Help with durability and temperament! No hothead techs in elimination games

Grow the F UP! Remember that this team has a good amount of cap space to go after a top FA and STILL have some money left to get a guy like Noah. You have to find vets who can give you good minutes. Then you fill in with your young guys on the cheap.

well we traded one of our young guys and we have no picks so...where are those young guys coming from?

I would take a run at bill russell ... he looked great at the finals ceremony. He would also be great for KP.

If he's cheap, I'm not opposed. His passing is great and his defensive and rebounding is very good.

Agreed. Howard would make no sense at anything close to a max. We can probably offer Noah a one year deal to prove he is healthier. I kinda like the fact we will have two guys with something to prove. Have always liked Noah's hustle and fight. It also doesn't hurt that he has played several seasons with Rose. If we can get him cheaper than Rolo and on a one year deal, don't see a problem.

With Noah I probably overpay on a one year or give him a 1 and 1 second year if the price is low.
Knixkik@ 6/22/2016 10:26 PM
I'm on board with Noah. He had a bad year but is still only 31 and can recover.
