But Al and KP are perfect for each other.

Big men last long, look st dirk, gasol, Duncan etc...all quite old but can still play.

callmened @ 6/24/2016 3:34 PM
exactly...were competing with stupid teams with MORE cap space than us

Yeah, I forgot about Horford honestly...

that'd be pretty perfect.

Would you max Horford and then go backcourt by committee? Horford will take a max, I imagine, or close to it.

I would if we could. If we max horford how much money left to get a SG,backup PG, and Lance Thomas?

There are some cheaper options that will be floating around - I always liked Meeks' game. He has a one year deal at $6.5M

His max starts around $25M - All other teams can offer up to almost $107 million over 4 years ($25m to $26.125m to $27.25m to $28.375m with the 4.5% raises).

I think that'd leave us around $10M to fill out the roster.

We can go over the cap to re-sign Lance and Langston to deals that start at $6M per - I hope we're able to do that.

So it'd basically leave us ~$10M to get a SG and backup PG... we'd prob have to say goodbye to DWill.

How about Meeks and a future 2nd rounder. Now that's the way to prosperity

For everyone's sake here, i am hoping we can find an effective 2-way center who is between 24-28 years old, no injury concerns, does the dirty work, and is an established starter for under 12 mil per year. I feel like that is the only thing that will make everyone happy. Any player the Knicks sign this summer, and their contract, will be guaranteed to be met with mixed results. The pickiness around here is unrealistic.

We have a bunch of guys here who keep acting like we have a chance to sign Durant, of course they're going to be disappointed with reality.

Wow. If Gallo six million per then I wonder what a starting caliber guard would get

I was hoping we'd be able to get two real good starters for about $15M each...

Not sure if that's possible. It might be better to just try to get one real impact player and then fill out the roster with lower level guys...

Though Phil has said he'd be more inclined to spread the money around than sign one big fish.

Of course he also said he wouldn't be focused on acquiring a PG and he'd only hire a coach he knew well. So, listening to Phil in press conferences is not the best bet.

I have no idea how to predict the market this summer. There is more cap room than there are players available... we're going to see some overpays.

I remember those saying we overpaid for Lopez. Imagine what those same will say this year.

They could offer Howard or Whiteside similar money and it would make more sense.

I was shocked when i saw this and also don't believe it. I don't care what the salary cap is cause there's no way Noah is worth that kind of money and i'm a huge fan of his and want him with the Knicks.

They probably already know whether they have a chance at Howard and Whiteside or not via their agents.

Who knows if there's any truth to this rumor... but there are only a few top players and almost every single team has the ability to make a max offer. Teams are gonna bid one another up to the max on the top PGs and SGs and Cs... and it's a pretty weak free agent class.

If you sign Hortford this yr. Then your basically trying to set the table to entice another FA in 2017. You can't get 2 studs this yr but you can get one 2016 and one 2017.

Noah hasn't signed or even been offered any contract yet and i don't believe he's gonna get that contract.

Some fans on here seem salty af over losing Rolo in almost every thread....damn

That being said, Noah ain't getting 120m. I'll believe it when I see the official press release. Until then I think he is coming here, esp after D.Rose just said he's been in his ear about coming to NY.

Can we make him an All-Defensive first teamer just to be sure?

Knixkik @ 6/24/2016 8:47 PM
A couple of people have already refuted the Noah being offered the max by washington. Looks like a bogus rumor. I still expect him to get a major contract offer (probably by us) but not max.
