Good observations. Had the same thoughts.
He says he feels like something special is going to happen here. And he's not the type of person to blow smoke. He just seems sincere. I hope he's right.

No, he's always been this way. Just seems like a quiet dude who lets his game speak for him.
Rose very complimentary towards KP - he lit up a little and said, "Man, it was tough to play against him LAST YEAR. He's so good!"
Also earlier he said that he sense Melo was just like him, called him a "dog" who was willing to do anything to win and he was happy to have someone like that on his team. Said he had just texted with Melo so far.

I noticed that. He really lit up, like when you admire someone but hate him at the same time because of the hard work he makes you go through. That was nice. Hopefully it will translate into a great on-court relationship.
