Who will the knicks end up with? I want Bazemore
Bradley Beal
DeMar DeRozan
Dwayne Wade
Kent Bazemore
Evan Turner
Jordan Clarkson
Evan Fournier
J.R. Smith
Jamal Crawford
Courtney Lee
O.J. Mayo
Eric Gordon
Dion Waiters
Kevin Martin
Lance Stephenson
Arron Afflalo
Turner, Bazemore, and Lee.
So basically Turner and Lee, since the Hawks will give Bazemore a nutjob offer that should not be matched. Or you could wait, since the Knicks hold all the cards. And save that cap space and let Holiday run amok for a bit.
I want Fournier. Beal I love but his injury history scares me, especially on this team. Bazmore eh. Mayo as an off the bench guard would be nice. I also really like Stephenson. All good teams have at least a splash of crazy, that type of player willing to do anything and back it up with some toughness. Clarkson may be decent as a plug and play 2 guard who can cover the point and Turner, Lee, Crawford are nice stop gap options if any of them would come on a budget contract. No way to Smith, Gordon, Waiters, Afflalo, Martin. Never impressed with Derozan. reminds me of a swingman version of Charles Smith. Wade on a 1 and 1 contract would be nice, but again, as Mark Schlereth would say the best ability is availability and Wade is getting up there.
With the way I see this a bit different.
The Knicks will have 3 players who will have an above average usage of the ball. If not very high when it comes to Rose and Melo. Need to get a player at 2 guard between Melo at 3 and Rose at 1 who is highly comfortable at catch and shoot and running the floor quick.
Players who can shoot 3s and have shown the ability to run up the court and fill a wing or corner spot fast are the types I would focus on. Not sure Holiday or Galloway can be relied on as starters.
Players I've liked for this role who are free agents. 1- Allen Crabbe. 2- Troy Daniels.
I'm not at all in support of adding another high usage ball handling guard next to Melo/Rose. Won't work on offense. We could definitely use a quality combo guard, one that can backup Rose or fill in as starter if he needs rest or is injured as well as play some 2. A player like jerryd bayless comes to mind.

Troy Daniels can shoot but he is pretty unproven up to this point. He might be a guy that you sign but I don't see him filling the two guard spot. Beal might be the guy despite his injury history. I wouldn't mind Crabbe. I think the Knicks are going to try and sign one more big name either at the two or the five.
I could live with a 3 man rotation at 2 guard (or 2 man rotation if 2 players prove they deserve it) with Troy Daniels, Holiday and Galloway. All three have three point range and can do what Hornachek wants from his wings.
Get a better creator and ballhandling option for Rose as his backup. Try to be as economical as possible at the 2. Lord knows if the Knicks sign a 5, it wont be cheap.

I actually agree with your SG options but disagree with you on the point about having another playmaker type on the team. I want another guard that can create with the ball so that we have a legit backup to Rose and don't lose that quality when he's on the bench or if he's injured. Remember that Horny was able to blend having ball dominant guards pretty well. A Jeremy Lin would be perfect. There are other guards that fit that bill as well.
Hornachek had no dominant wing player like Melo.
That said if Hornachek believes in the 2 point guard backcourt, im all for it. However how I see it working is Rose playing 2, while us signing a quick point guard that pushes pace non-stop. Jeremy Lin did pretty well in that role for Charlotte. Maybe not Lin in particular, but similar role to what Lin had in Charlotte. Come off the bench and close games with Kemba. I think Hornachek would love to have another guard who can come off the bench and close halves with Rose in the backcourt.
Any guards come to mind that can push pace, shoot the 3, be willing to come off the bench?

Think with Rose he likely wont come, and Knicks may be weary of what happened last time. Never struck me Melo liked playing with him all that much either. Im open to it, if the contract is good and Hornachek likes his game. I thought Lin did real well with the 6th man role.
said this in another thread. For me the best fit at shooting guard is Aaron afflalo.
He will now be the 4th option instead of being the 2nd option. He can now focus his attention on defense.
He has a good stroke from 3 and a solid midrange game. Will the driving ability of rose, it will be crucial to get a player who can knock down shots.
I like Courtney Lee myself, he can play both sides of the ball he can hit the 3 and it frees up more money for a center and bench players as I think his max is about 10-12 mil
I think the names I like are (in no particular order) Lee, Green, Fournier and JCraw. I think the team needs a lot.
Rose
(for example:) Lee
Melo
Porzingis
(for example:) Noah
(for example:) Lance Thomas
(for example:) Langston Galloway
(for example:) Derrick williams
KOQ
Holliday
and probably 2 more PGs for health risk
It's too early for math but in order to field an actual team the Knicks need to spread that money around.
Someone smart w the basketball. Passes and defends really well and who hits open shots
Like the pg situation is his years FA does not have a lot of game changers. Some guys are really good at shooting but lack in other areas
Don't want AA back. Was a black hole on offense. Rebounded and played D very inconsistently.
Allen Crabbe is probably my top choice. The RFA limits out ability.
I actually think its going to be Langston. I think we spend on center, probably on Noah when it turns out we cant sign Durant, Horford, etc.. I think we then spend on some bench/backup help. I think we might get a bit lucky as some guys overprice themselves and are looking for 1 year situations where they can play well improve themselves..
But my gut feeling tells me its:
C Noah
PF KP
SF Melo
SG Langston
PG Rose
bench: Willy, Crawford, KOQ, Early
LG is a good defender. When he's not asked to do much I think he will be pretty good. Spot up shooter, chase a guard around on defense, keep it simple. A bigger fish would be nice and I hope to be pleasantly surprised, but I am a Knick fan
lance thomas can guard the 1, 2 or 3 ... just saying ... this guy is a must resign if he does not get a crazy deal somewhere else.

sure but I see him off the bench. Its possible we use the MLE on Lance and just bring LG back for the QO

The knicks do not have the MLE to use but they can offer him more money than the MLE while being able to go over the cap. The problem with going over the cap to sign guys like Gallo and Lance creates is it takes away from a max slot for next year.

hows that?
Gerald Green could be an option, he played well under hornacek and phil jackson said he wanted a rim attacker and that's green for sure
