I was watching some old youtube clips of the Knicks and it just dawned on me. The 1999 Knicks were the first successful team to implement the small ball scheme in the NBA. We had as our starting 5

Ewing, LJ, Spree, H20 and Ward.

Bench was Camby, Crazy Eyes, Childs and Dudley.

It even got smaller when Patrick got hurt.

Fuck the Warriors. We invented small ball!!!

My apologies. I am bored as hell. My company keeps giving us these new process'. Waterfall...Agile...Lean...Whitewater.... FUCK...Just let me work.

I don't know if we were the first ever or not. But having LJ be a stretch 4 and Camby dominating the paint with all that spacing to a finals run may have influenced future coaches at the time.

^ Remember when everybody was complaining about JVG playing Spree at the 3 and H20 at the 2? JVG was a visionary!!!

Should have traded Houston for a SF. Spree never complained. Too bad he lost his mind in Minny.

Thought about it a couple yrs back how that team was built for MDA. Probably would have even made Wars an all-star.
