Knicks · Ian Clark and James McAdoo as potential bench pieces?!? (page 1)

Golden State recently rescinded their rights making them unrestricted free agents.

Ian Clark is a capable 3 point shooter and played well in clutch spot minutes in the playoffs last year for the Warriors. He is only 25 with some upside. He would provide good depth at the SG position.

Bob McAdoo is still a solid prospect with upside (only 23). Was buried on the Warrior bench last year because of their ridiculous depth but played well when given opportunities. He can guard multiple positions with above average athleticism (2,3,4) and has versatility. He is kinda a jack of all trades in the Lance Thomas mold and can further develop his game.

Moreover, both these players are young and were part of a historically winning team where they made contributions when called upon. They would be perfect back of the roster type players for depth. They were part of the winning culture in Golden State and are professionals--think they would jell well with our team and balance it out.

Golden State had no choice but to rescind because of the KD signing.

I would make minimal offers to both of them.

If we want to play better TEAM BALL

signing players that played on GS, Atlanta, Spurs, simply would not hurt

getting players to buy in and be 1 unit takes sacrifices and talent

Agreed, getting players that play with as a TEAM has a multiple affect/effect on the roster
It was the difference with Sasha played was a huge difference despite the lack of talent

We now have constant penetration with Rose/Jennings but both have injury concerns so adding another talent that could be the 3rd string PG and play as the 2nd ball handler would make sense

I certainly would look to sign Dewayne Dedmon with a 2-3year deal if possible with 2-3m and vet min deal for Jeff Taylor
Jeff Taylor has a bit of Evan Turner in him

Jarrett Jack is a bit of a gamble but once was a legit PG/SG/SF and versatile player on both OFF and DEFENSE

While Affalo was playing more as a scoring looking to establish himself for a future contract as the man after CA
He is an undersized SF more than a SG and like CA doesn't have the the speed/quickness to defend their man at SG and SF respectively
His strength is POSTING UP but again, he is undersized at the SF and lacks the ability to defend SG's, he kept trying to force POST UPS

Mcadoo reminds me of a better version of Jared Jeffries that can finish but does not currently have the ability to hit wide open shots
Ian Clark has much more upside and I think both

Troy Daniels with him are solid pick ups but also has the speed/quickness to penetrate
Ish Smith at 6m is a GREAT PICK UP who has gotten so much better the past 2 seasons

Even Tony Douglas is another combo guard that seems to have found his game and confidence back in his 3pt shot that he had as a rookie

We need to find our own type of Aminu/Jae Crowder type of player to go with Lance Thomas

Alonzo Gee/Jakarr Sampson could be that type of player that are attainable

Thanasis certainly has the appeal along with Holiday
And Thanasis may attrack Giannes in 2020 or after when CA expires, while Holiday may attract Jrue Holiday next summer

Thomas Robinson would also be a solid player in the Triangle and uptempo system
