The players are pretty much all highly motivated to be their best next season. All you can do is take a chance on talent. There are no guarantees EVER. I like this roster and it's without a doubt the best one we've had in a long time.

No one can say that this wasn't a well thought out group in terms of ability and how they fit with each other and Hornacek's vision for the team. This was a total Front Office team effort. U.S. and Foreign Scouts as well as Mills, Warkentien and Hornacek came together and tried to put a team together that can compete for a Title. That's all you can ask.

except KP the rest of the starting five has never been past the E/WCF. I tend to think the "hungry dogs" theory works well in throughout life but especially so in sports

I hope for all of out sakes that we get to see this team in the ECF's this coming season. I think this team has a real shot despite the doubt that some have about this team. Who wouldn't want to see a series with the Knicks and Cavs???

"I'm ready to be an animal for this city"- Joakim Noah

Love it. Also it's great hearing him talk about how special it would be to win it all in NY. A lot of guys say that but you can tell they were just kind of told that and are going along with it. Noah believes in it.

crzymdups wrote:Another interesting tidbit - Mills said Lance Thomas called him early morning July 4th and said he had other offers, but didn't want to talk to other teams, liked what the Knicks were doing and wanted to be a part of it. He said "find a way to bring me back. I want to be there."

whoa... I'm glad I was sitting down... when have FAs used the Knicks for anything other than (1) pumping up their contract with another team or (2) getting ridiculously overpaid in their 30s here. I know some of you will say that happened this offseason, but what never happens is someone calls up and says "I'll take a discount to play here because I want to play here"

Knicks also did Thomas a semi-solid by signing him last year which guaranteed he would not get traded (NTC by default)

the key is getting players that can help you through it - guys that can step up when other guys get tired and so forth. knicks need depth. they have 3 guards but they need 2 more quality ones. they have 3 forwards/centers but they need 2-3 more. it's a long season. nov to apr is all about depth.
