"Baker collected 22 points, nine rebounds, five assists and five steals while making four 3-pointers. He’s a favorite of Hornacek’s and already has been invited to training camp."
Enjoying his tenacity and versatility.
Against who did he do this
I hope to see him come around. A mature 5th year senior who can play defense, hit shots and is a team guy with a high BBIQ. (But he appears to not be well suited to run the point.)
Maybe Randle gets the invite as since he has arrived and run the point the team is much more competitive.
Anyway, nice to have more young guy(s) to root for.

YMCA Wednesday night pick-up game, I understand.
The Knicks seemingly have a knack for finding guys off the scrap heap that can contribute, specifically at guard

Liking the defensive highlights as well. And he will possibly be a much better alternative to having another Westchester season turning into another frenzied Jimmer-watch.
Nice to see you back earl. Glad that Baker had a breakout game, he had been very hesitant to shoot up to that point. Would be great if he could be our go to 3pt shooter.

+1 and they aren't head cases either.
there is a lot of talent out there and when NOT drafted you can get opportunity with teams in need.
Good teams let guys go when better ones can be filled in with better contracts. Not a knock on Langston, he carved out a career and got a contract.
Im very happy for him.
Every year only 60 guys get drafted and more come from over seas these days. Some like Jimmer get drafted too high, and some not at all, but they have talent.
As long as Langston does not torch us, I hope he does well in NOLA!!
Lot of stars in SL never to be heard of again. Putting aside his 1 yr deal, Baker has a few things going for him besides a abilty to handle and shoot some that the over hyped Jimmer didnt. Namely Size and D ability. With Jennings, Holiday and Lance in tow , he and Randle are extraneous but let's see what SL and training camp bring

Not comparing him to Jimmer, Just saying some guys are over hyped because of March Madness. At the same time, others are forgotten but then carve out nice careers.
BTW, Jimmer is 6-4 and I'd compare him to Dragan, but no defense and is pig headed.

Jimmer generously listed at 6 2" more like 6 ft and wide bodied so Ill assume the Dragan you refer to is Dragolak Milosavich of Class 2 league who Knick scouts have been following since his famed breakout agaisnt Winslow and Johnson in the 2014 US-Croatia preliminary round game? Kid has buyout but top five lottery talent and Jax and scouts have in with club

I'm pretty sure he didn't have a breakout game and those were his combined stats unless i somehow missed a game that he broke out in??

Incorrect. Those were his game numbers for yesterday's game.

Those stats from yesterday's game.
A bit premature to compare him to Gallo after one good SL game when he was atrocious in the previous 3.
I think that with Rose and Jennings on the team Baker, if he gets minutes, will have an easier time doing his thing than Gallo had, because Galloway was pressed into playing a lead guard role, something he seemed uncomfortable doing at times.
My feeling is that Baker has a chance to surpass Galloway as a player in a few years. Eventually, I believe he can be a 25 MPG glue player who does a little of everything for a good team.
Of course I could be wrong.

A bit premature to use SL as any litmus test at all.
Knicks brought these players in because they watched game film, scouted them and brought them in for workouts, and in addition to the actual SL games, they've been practicing and scrimmaging.
Baker's break out game doesn't mean a thing. Equally irrelevant are the games he struggled in.
I don't think the Knicks are going to base any decisions on the results of some scrimmage games. It might be a venue to earn a training camp invite. But I doubt anyone is playing themselves off whatever the Knicks had planned to do.
Cartman718 wrote:Against who did he do this
Cartman - Ron Baker projects as a player who could benefit from playing big boy basketball as a 15th man. He does nor dress out, but works hard in practice ("../ we talki bout practice...") and wears some nice suits on the sidelines.
Like the undrafted Langston Galloway, you never know how any young man will respond to an opportunity until the ball racks are rolled out in training camp.
