Knicks · Courtney Lee working out with DRose in LA (page 1)
I think Courtney Lee is one of the secret keys to our season (along with Brandon Jennings and Lance Thomas)
Glad to see he's getting some time in with DRose.
CAN THE SEASON JUST START ALREADY??

Yeah it's good to see them working out together. I also can't wait for the season to begin. I think this team has very good balance, depth and quality.

Well it worked out better than some hoped with the 54 win team. No team since then has had this level of talent!!! Which of our recent teams have had this many legit threats? Which team had this balance and depth?
It's not not about getting hopes up. Not so much a wait and see thing with me. We pretty much know what many of these players can do already. It's up to the players and coaches to come together and maximize what they have. Can things fail or go bad? Of course. I just don't think it's likely that this team will play poorly. Last year the team played .500 ball when they were healthy and that team was not as good as this one should be. Moreover these players recognize how talented this team is and that they have a chance to seriously compete and they are HIGHLY motivated to make it work. They aren't coming in timid or fearful about the season.
The top 7 is full of guys that know what they can do and have a very strong on court demeanor.

The rest of the bench has some very interesting talent. Willy, Kuz, Holiday, KOQ and Sasha isn't bad, off the bench. I don't believe we should be nervous about this team as if it's sketchy in some way. It's a nice roster that we should be excited about.

I understand the reasons people are somewhat reluctant, but I don't believe in that. It seems to me that only because it's the Knicks there's this superstition that it won't work, despite how well the team did in the 54 win season. To me it's no different. If you put together the right talent you should be able to win in the NBA.
This team makes the most sense since that 54 win team. The way that Hornacek intends to have this team play fits with the talent we have. The roster has fit and balance. Rose is a push guard that can penetrate. Lee is a catch and shoot, 3nD SG. Melo is a proven scoring threat from anywhere. KP is a young beast with multiple skills and internal desire to be great. Noah is a vocal leader and ball mover that sets the tone for his teams. I don't have to be timid about what that group should be able to do together under Hornacek.

I posted this in another thread regarding Rose. I think it shows some of the things that get hidden within the numbers at times.
Rose actually shot well on Pull Ups after the All Star break. Among guards he was one of the top players in attempts. Now look at his FG% compared to all the other top guards from 2pt range. He has a low 3pt % which lowers his eFG%, but he rarely took pull up 3pt shots compared to the other top guards.
Pull Up Shots: Any jump shot outside 10 feet where a player took 1 or more dribbles before shooting.

I think Courtney Lee is one of the secret keys to our season (along with Brandon Jennings and Lance Thomas)Glad to see he's getting some time in with DRose.
Rose
Lee
Melo
KP
Noah
BJ
LTThe rest of the bench has some very interesting talent.
If you put together the right talent you should be able to win in the NBA.This team makes the most sense since that 54 win team.
I think it shows some of the things that get hidden within the numbers at times.Rose actually shot well on Pull Ups after the All Star break.

All in due time.
Melo is in Rio, Etc etc.
Bottom line is NBA players train off season but when fans read good stuff, they get excited. not a damn thing wrong with that!
Naturally some of us here have to guard our fragile emotions and can't "Too excited".
Including Nalod!!!
Lets just say this team is very interesting and has a tall ceiling given the talent. Reality is they will have to defy some injury patterns!
Jennings has his heel problems, Rose a long list, and Noah's feet, knee and shoulders!!!
This team has the upside to win 57 games!!!!, but the fragile history that could also only win 37 games!!!
KP could be an MVP contender, or hit a sophomore slump.
That's what makes it interesting.

and it also makes it better than spending thread after thread trolling the NBDL for your next starting backcourt...
