This girl has a history of doing things that Im sure she is not proud of and maybe thought she'd have a long term relationship with him. They had been together a few years.
As for her motives for money or respect, that's going to be settled in a court of law.
If no criminal charges been substantiated, Im not sure how a civil suit has legs.
If so, then her attorney is looking for a settlement using Rose's public reputation as leverage. Since that is not a concern for Rose, then he is intent to ride it out.
Kobe has reconciled with his wife and they are about to have another child together. Another daughter!
I suppose we can judge this in due time.no there's more than his reputation there's his JOB. he will likely create ill-will with the new york knicks if he doesn't make this go away when the season starts. try the thought experiment with the scenario of his dragging this out. and please don't tell me this will not affect the team.
Right. Look at the effect Barnes ass beating of Fisher took on the team. He effectively lost the respect of his players and peers the instant that story leaked.
Rose would be better served to settle quickly to save face all around and improve on rehabbing his scumbag image.
That's BS. You know what had a bigger effect on the team? Galloway, Calderon, Grant, Sasha, O'QUINN,Seraphin....
The Fisher and Barnes incident does promote untrustful issues towards Fisher as a friend and co-worker.
The line-up of Grant, Galloway, Sasha, D.Will, and O'Quinn were a better offense/defense chemistry lineup then our starter lineup last season. Our bench lineup outscored opponents, added more STOPS, plus beat the starters in every practice scrimage game in preseason.
That 2nd unit lineup were taking a part by Phil, Dolan, Fisher, and a 35 minute playing-time captain Carmelo Anthony after the bench won the 7th and 8th regular season game that gave us a 4-4 record. in the following regular season games coach Fisher benched O'Quinn, D.Will, Sasha, and Grant to replace them with Amundson, Seraphin, and Afflalo to make the rotation smaller plus increase the starters minute of playing-time.Whats with all the negativity about knowing Gang signs?
All the 1980's to 2000's children were facinated learning Gang-signs in inner-city and suburban schools, just because certain peeps were anti-social and didnt learn any Gang-Signs does not give them the right to condemn those that did. Our society see 4 teenage guys together and they automatically consider them a GANG .. Judging a book by its coverwait a minute-- are you saying that impressionable young people who are introduced to gang culture, who then somehow popularize it, therefore legitimize it, making it ok? that is utterly perverse.
Im not sure where u are going with this .... u sound like u r one of the privileged kids not born in one of the thousands gang-related neighborhoods in this country

i just told you where i was going with this by asking a simple, perhaps rhetorical question. since you don't want to answer it i will rephrase what you are saying:
tons of inner-city kids get exposed to gang-related things at an impressionable age. because they are impressionable the gang-related things become popular. and because the gang-related things become popular they somehow become acceptable and legitimate.
therefore gang-related things are legitimate. corollary: those that didn't get in on the gang-related things should not condemn something legitimate like gang-related things.

Yeah your right. Those guys were so good. Strong argument except for the fact we saw them play. And if you mean Chemistry, as in can't score for minutes at a time, yeah they had lots of chemistry. Gallo, Grant, Sasha, O'Quinn had the shooting consistency of bench guys on a D league team. Like I said, we all know and saw how good those guys were. And they weren't very good.
ChuckBuck wrote:EwingsGlass wrote:This is not a criminal trial. Keep that in mind. These cases are all about money versus reputation. Recall the Kobe matter. From Wiki:
"Kobe Bryant sexual assault case
The Kobe Bryant sexual assault case began in July 2003 when the news media reported that the sheriff's office in Eagle, Colorado had arrested professional basketball player Kobe Bryant in connection with an investigation of a sexual assault complaint filed by a 19-year-old hotel employee. Bryant had checked into The Lodge and Spa at Cordillera, a hotel in Edwards, Colorado, on June 30 in advance of having surgery near there on July 2 under Dr. Richard Steadman. The woman accused Bryant of raping her in his hotel room on July 1, the night before the surgery.Bryant admitted to an adulterous sexual encounter with his accuser, but denied the assault allegation. The case was dropped after Bryant's accuser refused to testify in the case. A separate civil suit was later filed against Bryant by the woman. This was settled out of court and included Bryant's publicly apologizing to his accuser, though admitting no guilt on his part."
Without getting into it, as I understand this never made it to authorities. Purely a civil lawsuit. Which makes it about money, not correcting an injustice.
Rose won't serve jail time, but it's the fact he has no one else to blame for this mess, just like Kobe.
It took a public apology, a giant rock the size of the moon, and a few years of rebuilding his rep from a raping a#shole to just a plain a#shole.
As for Rose, him being from a gang background and no wife to apologize to...he'll probably just throw a huge club party and throw 'em up again!
The society you live in crumbles to nothing. Where a mere civil allegation makes a person a rapist. Where guilt is by association alone. Criminality by transitive property.
What man needs to blame anyone for anything? Rose has never cried mea culpa. He said "not true and here is why". I respect him for taking this case to trial. Most people would settle and make it go away. Cause it speaks to the heart of character versus a couple dollars.
Kobe's deal with his wife is between a man and his wife. Maybe he does the dishes for the rest of his life too. But, I would imagine that she stayed with him cause he told her the truth. Adulterer. Yes. But that is between the man and bis wife.
And what if Rose throws a party and flashes his fingers. I've got a finger I want to flash. Because beneath every word of vitriol you spew here is an innate racism (and I have no idea whether its self hate or some other kind) that every man accused of a crime is guilty.
The mere notion of success puts a target on a guy's back. People want to be business partners. People want to be entourage. People want to be mistress, girlfriend, wife. Mostly, people want to get paid. And here, this isnt about innonence or guilt. It's about whether she gets paid or doesn't get paid. So, my sympathy is lessened bacause of motivation. If someone touched my daughter, I would be out for blood, not cash. Those goggles skew my view.
Good person or bad person, I dont care. He seems like a good dad. Probably the best indicator of who this guy is. And if he has to write a check, he'll be a guy who wrote a check. You want to put rapist next to his name? Bring a criminal allegation. This a shakedown.
callmened wrote:im just curious to know the positive spin nixluva will put on this case
What is this BS? Why would I put a Positive Spin on a Civil Sexual Assault case? This whole thing is bad and not what you want associated with any player on your team. It's not the first time that a player has been accused of doing something heinous. I don't like it but I also am not able to say that I know exactly what happened that night. It doesn't look good to me from what i've read, but evidence in a court cases rarely gives you the entire story. Still it looks very bad. What I don't understand is why no formal charge of rape and why the Beverly Hills Police decided not to investigate or charge Rose with Rape or Assault. The civil case will be resolved in due time.
trust me they did their due diligence before acquiring rose. just trust me (wink wink). of course we all dont know what happened that night but they dont expect him to miss any playing time
