Wow truly a shocking story. What a loss 24 years old and couldve easily been Cy Young. A franchise player who wouldve made 30-40 mm a year and just found out his girlfriend was pregnant. Unreal early loss of life

Sad news this morning. Reinforces how tenuous life can be, and any moment could be our last.

Crazy. Last night i was talking about him with my buddy because he was scheduled to face my mets on monday and he always beats them. Then i turned on the computer an hour ago and find out he is gone

Yeah, really a horrible tragedy. I mean death is always there but when you see someone who has "made it" or stood out in some way (personal or professional), it just hits home.
I didn't follow the league as a whole but his numbers were incredible. Might he win something posthumously?

I heard Mattingly gave him Sunday off so he could pitch to the mets on Monday :-( Life works like that sometimes...

Unbelievable. I wanted this kid on the Yankees SO BAD. Kept talking about clearing out money for the same guys in FA in a couple of years -- some combination of Harper or Machado AND Fernandez. Fernandez was probably my number one guy out of anybody, even those 2 top position players. Still so young, dynamite arm, great stuff. ELECTRIC. Fernandez/Tanaka, 1 and 1a man...Wow am I devastated. He was a guy I'd gladly drop whatever I was doing to watch pitch if I knew he was on TV. Just can't wrap my head around what's happened. So sad..RIP.

Truly a shame and a tragedy for someone at such a young age. Condolences to his family. Their pain is unthinkable. RIP
