That was awesome. O'Quinn looks a lot lighter. Also, I like that Hornacek likes to have them scrimmaging.

Yeah his approach seems much more conducive to guys getting a feel for each other. They are moving much quicker and moving at the pace he wants them to play at. Not a lot of standing around. It's of course just a scrimmage but the idea is right. I like what I saw from Willy too. He seems to move very well and he's crafty around the basket.

LOL at J-Holliday's awesome D as Rose pounds dribble prior to his behind the back dribble/drive.
Jennings looks out of control out there. He's gonna drive people here crazy!

DRose looks good. CLee with a nice block of Jennings and save to create offense the other way.
N'Dour with a nice dunk off a great Noah pocket pass. Noah's passing is gonna be fun.
Quote from Hornacek on DRose -
Jeff Hornacek says he likes what he's seen from Derrick Rose: "I think he's getting he's legs back. Just watching him last year when we played them, it didn't look like he was as explosive as maybe he is now," the coach said Wednesday. Rose impressed coaches during today's scrimmage.
Just imagine for a moment, for a second, what this season could be like if Derrick Rose's legs are the healthiest they've been since that crappy day in 2012. If Noah can stay healthy? With his passing and defense? If KP can have a little better shot selection and 3pt shooting and make some more progress? If Melo can be Dad Melo and facilitate and pick his spots to score and not have to carry the full load? If CLee just keeps being CLee aka exactly what we need at SG?
I think it has the potential to be a starting five where all the guys make each other better. I can't wait to see how they fit together.
Man, the potential of this team... it could be a very fun season. I'm usually somewhat optimistic about this team... but I honestly feel like if things break right, they're a second round playoffs team and with the right matchups could be an ECF team.

This. There is a ton of potential with this team.

Noah, all NBA first team 2014, NBA All Defensive Player of the Year 2014
KP, Unicorn
DadMelo, Olympic Melo
Lee, solid 2way SG
Rose, former MVP
Solid group with a ton of potential

their predicted record of around 38 to 40 wins is based on the injury factor. without injury they could be a 46-50 win team. with decent chemistry they could make it past the first round. a lot of "ifs" surrounding injury and chemistry though....
They are smarter and more talented than any team in the Eastern Conference.

Just look at the actual ability of these players! That's what we need to focus on. No one will have to overdo it on this team. There's more than enough talent for the bench to play and provide rest for the starters. The chemistry thing will take care of itself. What's helping is that Phil did a great job of putting the parts together. These players games make sense next to each other and in the style that Hornacek wants them to play. It's the best Phil could realistically do. IMO the only real "IF" is health. There aren't really a lot of things to question about this team IMO.
I like Brandon Jennings intensity. Definitely out of control but we need that. There will be days he will sit and days he's going to look like pistol pete. Rose looks to be coasting. I think that's the most awesome observation. He looks in control and strong. Very scary how both players will effect this team.
Right away I think we're missing a slasher. We still have time to analyze with this being the first basketball meal of the season....

Huge if but that would definitely be cool. One side benefit of these practices, we may have some more teeth in our transition D

First time in several years that Rose has been healthy enough to work out during the off-season. Many may be worried about his knees but they are overlooking the fact his legs were fine last year and were gaining more strength towards the end of the season. Excited to seem him this healthy.
Hornacek said that he planned to have the team practice at high speed and perhaps start off the season like that and gradually pull back. He said he wanted them to get used to playing that way but obviously it's a long season so you can't expect the team to go at breakneck speed for all 82. Still finding the right pace for them to be at their best is his goal.
