Pretty interesting and powerful interview. Thanks for posting. I didn't know his back story and I must say it made me respect him more. He's definitely one of the originals and I read him all those years growing up in NY. Didn't love his attitude but he was being real.
I liked what he said about Melo. Loved that he dissed Barkley, who i can't stand. I didn't know about his Rucker championships. Good stuff.

I thought it was great and I used to love his column. I didn't follow his stuff when he was with the Daily News. But his Post column was a must read.
Vecsey is still a jerk. Hopefully the last of those writers who thought they were bigger than the sports they covered and used their columns to settle personal vendettas (i.e. Dick Young, Jimmy Cannon, etc.)
