Kristaps Porzingis Signs Multi-Year Deal With Adidas
OCT 5, 2016 10:02 PM

Kristaps Porzingis has signed a multi-year deal with Adidas worth between $3 million and $6 million annually depending on bonuses.

Nike has the right to match Porzingis' new deal.

Porzingis became a shoe free agent Oct. 1.

Porzingis signed a four-year deal with Nike in 2012 that paid him $25,000 per year as a 17-year-old.

Nike, adidas and Under Armour each expressed strong interest in a long-term deal, while several Chinese-based brands also made an effort to pitch Porzingis and his agent, Andy Miller.

“All I can say is both Nike and adidas are first-class companies,” Porzingis told The Vertical on Wednesday. “I would be lucky to align myself with either one. The amount of attention I received was flattering, but right now I am letting my agents handle the business side of things.”

I really love this kid. His maturity is fascinating to me. I hope they have these shoes in 13 4E.

My size as well, 13 wide. Not easy finding shoes that fit well anymore, damned near impossible. Not the same quality anymore.

Can't wait to see his signature shoe and see him in commercials.

As long as he stays humble and focused it's all good

They buy sneakers in Europe also.
Be curious how they market him and where.
Obviously NY is a natural, but where else?

We live in the Internet age so we all are alot closer than we used to be. Hip-hop hope made everyone more relatable. KP is from Latvia at is cool as all hell. He fits the American culture so well because of this global effect.

American music has been doing that for more than a century.

Thanks for the tip, but Im not a fan of New Balance. At least a decade ago they started putting in hard plastic heels. All too soon the fabric wears out and you get blisters from the exposed plastic. Wearing extra wide sketchers now, best I can manage. Going to try the old Nike high tops from the early 90s I used to wear that they re-released, AirMax strong. Those were the best shoes I ever wore.

Yeah I know about the blister thing. I was out jogging in some worn out socks when the fabric tore in the heel of the shoe, exposing the rubber cushioning. Friction central, plus the polyester lining curled up. Within a half mile I got a huge heel blister, and right before a business trip too. I should have worn a thicker sock. I wear orthotics so the shoe needs to be wide enough to accommodate them. Not sure whether the Jordans could do that-- I went through several pairs of Air Jordans too. Loved them.
