martin or andrew can you please police this sort of stuff. it's offensive!
I said it before and I'll say it again - and I said it before DRose was a Knick - there is something extremely fishy about this case. I don't know if it'll be a mistrial, but I don't see a bad outcome for Rose at this point. And I certainly don't see any criminal charges being filed.

Rose still did a bad thing IMO. Criminal charges or not it doesnt mean he is this great guy. Thankfully he is only here a year. Im excited about jennnings possibly being here a few years like he said he wanted to

yea and you can see why it made sense he refused to settle. I mean it seems like chick says F*ck me. Guy does. 3 years later she sues him for rape and $5mm. What do you think this trial cost Rose? $100k? $250k? I mean it doesnt seem like the type of case that requires a book of billable hours. There is only so much to go over.

You keep saying this kind of thing but really what are you basing it on? You can never really know the whole truth in situations like this.
Also you don't know that Rose will not sign a new contract here. Let's just see what happens.

I'm not bothered about sex lives of players, but there's no way I could root for a rapist- outcome of the trial is important to me. How awkward will it be as a knick fan following this team if he is found guilty?

I don't know what you're talking about. Make your point clear and don't beat around the bush. You didn't address my point at all.

A rapist who forces a woman or takes advantage of her while she is incapacitated is obviously someone who is impossible to root for.
But in this case there is a lot of gray area, and it is possible to see why Rose does not feel he did anything wrong.
And juries make mistakes too, one way or the other, so the decision on whether to root for a player will be taken based on facts and each individual's interpretation of these facts.

i never accused him of rape or that he is guilty of criminal charges. HOWEVER i still feel his actions werent right at all. I mean he has had some issues in his past as well. Im just not a big fan of his. Talent wise he used to be a bigtime offensive player and mvp i would never deny that

he isn't a high character person. too much history of sleaze and the knicks need high character employees.

His actions were not right and show poor judgment. But imagine yourself as a 25 year old single guy overflowing with testosterone and this lady who's all sexual and voluptuous throws herself at you, even entices you with some kinky toys and talk, and can you honestly say that you will have the perceptiveness and clarity to accurately judge the level of her intoxication to decide whether to play along or stay away? These are real people, making real decisions based on what they feel and see at a particular time and place, without the benefit of 20-20 hindsight and statements laid out for them in court papers. And how many of us can honestly claim that they would exercise better judgment if they were young, rich, famous and accosted by female attention?
I am also not a big fan of Rose as a player, I was a big fan of Spree, despite his choking incident, somehow it never bothered me, maybe I need to check my moral principles, but it was true. And as more and more facts about the Rose incident are surfacing up, the more difficult it becomes for me to judge him as well, even if I may never grow to like him as a player.

The only issue I am aware of is his SAT issue. Oh and I think there is a picture of him where he made a gang sign in college. I believe he apologized for that.
