I would love to see a 538 style analysis of the headlines on NY beat writers' articles covering the Knicks. With all honesty, I would rather read Scorebot than pick through the vitriol these writers put out. The Daily News is the worst. Personally, I would advocate switching the position on the home screen for what the bloggers write versus what the tabloids write.

I don't need sunshine and rainbows, but I dont want to see articles about shopping for point guards one game into the preseason. Articles that focus on who is not their versus the absolutely STELLAR performance Randle had.

I genuinely come here to see all the Knicks articles aggregated. The bias of the writers is killing me though.

Truthfully i dont care about the articles. I make my own judgments from watching the games. I agree with you usually they arent accurate anyway. Its not because they are too negative or positive but they just dont make sense most of the time

Its easy to keep up with the games during preseason. But once the west coast games amd the back to backs start, its hard for me to watch as much as I want. I guess I am whining about these crappy beat writers. Over the last decade, I am sure they have gotten sick of Dolan, MSG and their media policies. But it is still a spectator sport. I don't want to read what was wrong with Knicks on the day they won by a decent margin. Tell me what they did right first. My wife calls it a soft start. Start with a compliment. Then tell me everythung else that is wrong with me if you want... [/Rant]

Apparently Negative Knicks sells! BJ, Randle and Willy would be a great place to start before getting into any negative angles on the Knicks last game. As much as the Media loves to tease Phil can they at least mention the nice games from guys he brought in this summer and drafting Willy was a smart move last year.

Well said. It is hard to ignore the negativity. I agree that the Daily News is the worst of the bunch. I try to watch game and listen to interviews so my opinion isn't based on an out of context quotes. Also, the blog articles are pretty awesome. Another great source for Knick content is the locked on podcast. I don't think Dubin is a homer at all and I often disagree with him but his opinions and perspectives are always fun to listen to.

I feel like an old man (I am 36) when I say I have literally never listened to a podcast. But, I follow the blogs. Might have to turn off the music in my ear phones to get my Knicks info. The print media is hard to stomach.

I started listening to podcasts last spring and then over the summer became hooked. I really like the Locked On Knicks podcast. The other one that is Knick specific that I like is Anthony Donohue's podcast. They are awesome if you are doing a project, working out, driving etc.

Bermen seems to switch between being okay to being an a***hole. This preseason he has been a full on a***hole, especially over trying to stir up hostilities vs Noah.

Headlines sell papers.

Wins and Losses are the only truth. The rest of it is entertainment.

This team has been bad for so long that I expect a certain amount of cynicism from beat writers. Sometimes it goes overboard, like with Isola. When the Knicks start playing well season to season, the local coverage wont seem so bad, but there will always be some drama. Its NY.

New york media has to sensationalize stories.
Berman the other day discusses how Rose and Noah out are really disruptive.

Some of you have insisted Rose trial is heavy on the minds of his new team. I would say they don't care as they don't know him and Im not sure Rose has a great reputation in the league as being a great teammate.
Not a bad one mind you, but not "Beloved".

Its not like Shane Battier is on trial and his teammates for years are shattered to the core over this deception.
Not like A.C. Green is being sued.

We talking Derrick Rose.

I think the actual trial coverage of Rose's case has been good. Both the Post and Daily News have a reporter in the court room. The women from the Post, Julia Marsh, tweets a lot about what goes on in the court room.

The most important teammate Rose had is Noah and he LOVES Rose, so there is that. I do agree that his teammates aren't really impacted by the case since they are new teammates. Also they have a lot of their own basketball related issues to worry about. Rotation and roster spots are not guaranteed.

Initially I think the Media was salivating over the salacious aspects of this Trial. Especially when some details of the Plaintiffs side of the story were put out there. Being an athlete it's easy to assume that he is probably guilty and it feels like there was a leaning towards judging Rose based on the rumors and leaked info. This is also a function of the "same ole Knicks" theme that the Media loves to repeat and so they are always on the lookout for anything that fits that narrative.

I have to give Berman a +1 for today's article. Informative without killing Brandon.
