First off Rose hasnt even played so giving him big starters minutes especially with his injury history wouldnt benefit him. I think jennings should start at first and we can ease rose back in slowly so it will keep him fresher as the season goes on. Plus i really like the chemistry jennings and KP seem to have
I agree, don't want rose rushing back and getting injured
I agree.
Brandon's energy and enthusiasm to start games is so important. Especially at home. I think guys are feeding off him. That sets the tone.... also psychologically, after dealing with Brandon then having to see Rose come off the bench would put a little fear in my legs. It's like "fuck I forgot about that dude". A fresh Rose attacking fatigued defense and weaker second units? It just sounds like the right way to go
rush him back??? he has 3 scrimmages and a day of rest(not that he needs the rest)...it's in fact imperative to build chemistry with the starters. I could understand if he was coming off an injury, but this guy is 100% healthy
I would have to agree with the OP. Two weeks is a long time away from a bunch of completely new faces.
And I like Eny's point about the fear factor about Rose coming off the bench against second units.
Con would be what affect beginning the season as a starter has on Jenning's slightly hyper psyche down the line, knowing it's just temporary.

Like Knicks1248 says, he is 100% healthy and you brought him in to be your starting lead guard. You don't just change all of that because of Jennings who's shown some nice flashes in preseason. Rose can build chemistry with the starters during the first few games of the regular seasons just as nicely as how Jennings did it within a few preseason games. It's a long season. Jennings is also the more streaky player, clearly. He's got a higher chance of having this early success cool off.
Injuries or not, you start the guy who's had the better career and still has a good amount of basketball left.
You need to start Rose. He missed what? 2 weeks of practice? You need to start just for team dynamics. You need to know who are your lead dogs. Hornacek can limit his minutes but you need to start him. Don't mess around. What happens if Jennings explodes while starting? Do you keep Rose as a reserve? Do you know what kind of problems you will have moving forward? There is no upside to starting Jennings right now.

Thank you! I'm hungry for insight from you guys. Whether I agree or not.... FEED ME BABY!
Start Rose and adjust minutes as needed. Both will play plenty of minutes. Although next year i wouldn't be surprised if Jennings is the starting PG. I think he is going to have a great year. The physical tools are back. His rhythm will come and we will see more consistent production as we go.
I say we need to start Rose. The quicker he starts getting that game time chemistry with the starters the better, I do want to see plenty of B.Jennings on the court though. I believe he'll get plenty of playing time. Although I have to admit, I'm enjoying the fact of not knowing which one should start, I like them both
