This can be a good team that can beat anyone. We must be one of the deepest teams in the NBA. You like last night that our depth eroded the Nets lead--it feels like youre going to get quality play 6-11 and that will help in an 82 game season. If we play poorly we have a secondary unit--or a mix match of rotations to turn too. There is more quality in this deep than in many years. It has a solid chance to be as good as the 54 win team(Im thinking 45-48) but we should be in very decent shape at playoff time compared to that team. This should be a playoff team--anything less would be a travesty. I think smart money in sport book Knicks over 38.5 and Phoenix 26.5--those are youre golden eggs this year--especially the Suns
I agree we are a decent team. I dont expect a deep playoff run but i think 45 wins and maybe getting to the second round is very possible
Briggs, most sportsbooks have Knicks at 40.5 but the under is like -140 so the under isn't paying out much. I put money on the over. This is a +.500 playoff team. Sure there are injury concerns but I will say what I have said all along.. we were 20-20 through 40 games with KP/Melo and not much else. We upgrade Jose/AA/Lopez/Gallo/Grant, and KOQ and KP both look to be improved. Its not a given that Kuz or someone else replaces DWill's production from last year but I am pretty confident coach can find that production.
How good they will be? Time will tell... but its a quality team with the depth to survive and avoid the kind of collapse we last year when Melo went down.
Also I am not thrilled with Lance's preseason. He missing tons of shots and has not had a big impact in other areas.
I expect that LT, Lee and KP will lock in and look better in the regular season. I don't think they're really as focused in preseason as we might like to see but some players are like that for some reason.
The quality of the talent is much improved even if there are some guys who need more experience. I think the bench can give enough production on most nights and that can make all the difference in a winning season.
I agree. This reminds me a lot of the Kidd team... I think there's a sneaky amount of depth and our top 3 players are quality
52+ win team. We have everything. We have a superstar in Melo. We have KP and Rose. We have very good role players of every variety. Let's go Knicks!

Top 4.. I would say any combo of Melo/KP/Noah/Rose with some of these good bench players and the KNicks will compete night in and night out. Jennings is a wildcard, but certainly could have monster games and be in the group as well, but I need to see more before. Also Lee is really good. Anyone doubt that if Melo was out or other guys that Lee could drop 20 most given nights?
Very happy with the team's development and future.
Let's just see if Rose ever learns to run even a rudimentary Triangle.
So far, I don't see that he can or that he wants to.
If he comes around: Knicks win 46 after a slow start.
If he doesn't come around and they replace him quick: Knicks win 42.
If they stick with him even though he doesn't know what he's doing: Knicks win 38.
super excited about this season. If things works out right we can certainly be 50+. By this I mean, Melo plays better because of Rose, and vice versa. Also would like to think KP and Jennings will play better with more talent around each. I liked the Lee of last night. Always liked Noah
if one of Willy, Baker or Randle contribute in a major way (from learning on the job) I will be super stoked.

He has played one pre season game for us so far.
The best part is a lot of these guys including the coach can stick with the Knicks for years to come and form a strong chemistry.

Maybe he's referring to last season. Or maybe his career with the Bulls as a whole.
Or maybe negativity only needs an incredibly small sample size.
We are improved vastly in every area, the starters, the backcourt, the bench, youth, defensively, coaching staff. And we have Olympic Melo. And a second year Unicorn.
Yes, I said vastly.
Pray for health, and hope the Zen master doesn't do anything goofy during this season with all our first rounders that we haven't traded away for Bargs-type flotsam.

It's impossible to make any legitimate judgments on what Rose will do based off one preseason game where they weren't even focusing on running the Triangle.
More importantly Hornacek has installed enough other stuff they can run with Rose on the floor so that they can ease him into things. It's not all gonna fall on how Rose runs Triangle.
